Birth control for women sensitive to hormones?

The girlfriend is currently on her second month using Nuvaring.

She doesn't like it much- weird bleeding, uterine pain, etc.

She's very sensitive to hormones, and she hasn't liked the shot, or any of the various pills she's tried.

Do any of you know of any form of BC that may be better?

There's a non-hormonal oral contraceptive called Centchroman available overseas for import. I'll bump the thread for you.

I have tried many different pills but, only one has worked for me perfectly. I use Orthocept 28 & I have no side effects at all. I know everyone is different but, before she gives up on the pill.. She may wanna give that one a try. My new doc suggested it a while back cuz I had hideous sides on other pills. The Orthocept is a low hormone dosage pill. I have no mood swings, good sex drive, no cramps, no break outs & the list goes on. I have stayed on this one now cuz it works so well for me.

Ultimately she will need to go back to her OB-GYN and get a new prescription. The doc should consider some lower hormone-level options. I'm not familiar w/ Nuvaring but there are different combinations of estrogen / progestin that may help as well. I've used a very low dose one called Triphasal or Trilevelin (one is the brand name, one is the generic) for several years and never had any issue with it.
