better time for post workout shake

when is a better time to drink a protein shake :

a. after lifting and b4 cardio (i've heard it's best to consume carbs and protein within half hr of your workout)

or

b. after whole workout--lifting and cardio


also... i'm stopping creatine cause i want to cut. would it be a good idea to add dextrose to the shake for some post carb workout?
 
If you are cutting then it is best to do cardio on an empty stomach. If you are trying to get in better condition then like a shake before cardio would probably help preserve muscle.

If you are after fatloss then its best post workout in both cases. I use dextrose in my post workout shakes regardless of cutting or bulking. My abs are starting to come through again so I am doing something right :)
 
I Lift, drink a whey shake, then do a little cardio. Works for me, however I am not adding dex to my whey.
