Best Multivitamin??

Hey everyone!!

I did a forum search and wasn't satisfied so, I'm gonna bug you guys yet AGAIN!!!

Leaving in about an hour to go to the store - I'm out of multivitamins. So my question to all of you is: Which one do you guys recommend??? My previous bottle was One A Day weight Smart (or Weight Sense, can't remember) with the green tea in it.

For some reason those made me sick ... same with the GNC Multi's I just got ... (Capsules)

I THINK I had good luck with ones from Vitamin Shoppe, but thought these were ok ... http://shop.lifetimefitness.com/items/item_detail.cfm?ITEM_ID=244, not sure if you have a lifetime fitness around you ...

I don't have a Lifetime Fitness here and the One A Day's made me soooo sick for the first little while!! I learned that I was fine as long as I took them with my first meal and in the middle of it. Weird!

I think SuperNutrition opti-paks are about the best I have used. Michael Mooney is one of the owners and he has done a lot for the HIV community and uses this to help HIV/AIDS patients boost the immune system.

I use the female formula by nutritox and did for about a year, then couldn't find it (they were re doing it or something so says the rumors) but now its back again so I have been getting that the last month. THey sell it at a couple of the local Smoothie Factories around here but there is also a website too... www.nutritox.com

I've been using the Kirkland Brand from Costco...........I also like One a Day Women's Formula cuz it already has calcium in it - so I don't have to take a separate calcium supp.....

I had to stop taking the Animal Pak - didn't like how it made me feel - plus the pills are HUGE!!

Good post! I'm interested in seeing the responses. I bought the generic brand of Centrum or One-A-Day at Sam's Club about two months back.

honestly, almost any of them are fine. hell, my ob had me taking flinstones when i was pg.

Don't be fooled by multivitamins like "weight smart" touting weight management claims. All that these companied usually do is up the mineral content a negligible amount and add a tony bit of green tea. Basically they "pixie dust" their standard multi adding extra ingredients that in larger concentrations may be beneficial, however mean nothing in such small amounts. They are added to the product for the sole purpose of claiming it on the label.

In a good multi there are a few things you should be looking for...non-synthetic, full B-complex, 15mg of iron or more, and 300 mg of calcium or more. You'd be surprised when you look at the labels...Centrum and One a day are very poor quality. A multivitamin is not a grocery item, it should be purchased from a healthfood store.

In Canada GNC's Ultra Mega Women's which are only 2 pills a day, contain a B 80 complex, 500 mg calcium, 200mg magnesium, 27mg of Iron and are timed released using a chloroseal coating process and are naturally made. I have not come accross a better multi than this one anywhere, I actually feel an energy difference when I take it. All comments about GNC aside, they do have one thing, excellent multivitamins. (Oh yes and if they upset your stomach, it's the B-Vitamins, just try taking them with food).
