I would only use it to get the metabolism going. If I'm already on a low calorie diet, I don't want to burning up muscle doing cardio. That's why I choose not to do it at all. If I were gonna do it, it would definitely be that low intensity. You gotta have a pretty tight diet though.JKurz1 said:??????????????? seriously! THat's a tad too low to do much of anything, don't you think? WOn't even sweat at that rate.........I was thinking more like 65-75 for 1/2 hour......max fat burning zone, no?
Lifterforlife said:Much depends on what type of workout you are doing. For instance, if you are doing lots of supersets, dropsets type of weight workout...i.e...little rest time, you can probably get by with minimal cardio
Which way do you feel that you can maintain the most muscle mass?

If you can get by with it, by all means the least cardio you have to do.

whats your speed and incline?MsBeverlyHills said:it depends. i cut back on running (sprints) about 2 wks out because my carbs are very low & I dont want injuries. the best pre-comp cardio is stat. bike.
also- jkurz is right- most competitive bodybuilders dont run, they walk on the treadmill at a incline...
