bench routine advise

I'd like some input.

I've been using the same basic type of benching routing for a while now. Most of the variation I've had has been in the rest of the workout, not the benching. It's time for a change.

I've been using a 8,8,8,6,4 pyramid routine, throwing in a sixth set as well.

The weights I've been using in recent weeks are:
135 x 8
185 x 8
225 x 8
275 x 6
315 x 4, but at least the last one requires a spotters touch
295 x 4.

I'm thinking of changine the routing to spend more time on higher weights/less reps.

How does this sound:
135 x 8
225 x 6
275 x 2
315 x 2
335 x 2 (I'll need help with the second one)
345 x 1

Anybody have any input?

What you have posted will help improve your strength. But after about 4 weeks your muscles are going to burn out on those heavy weights and your gains will stop or even disappear. You have to switch exercises often when you're using maximum strength weights. Read about periodisation on www.elitefts.com under the articles section and you will understand what I mean, and you'll probably be able to come up with a good bench program for yourself.
