Beach Girl's Dieting Down for Summer Journal

Good luck with the bF testing, the two pounds sounds like that time of the month. I know a week before I crave carbs really really bad so I change up my diet so I don't get headaches to a little heavier carbs, not a lot but just enough to do the trick. You want to be 128? How tall are you, we sound similar. I would like to be 127 by the end of june, but we shall see, pretty content with where I am except for fine tuning.

Stats:

Height: 5'6 1/2
Weight: 143.3 lbs
Body Fat: 25.7%
(36.84 lbs fat) (106.46 lbs lean body mass)

This afternoon we formulate my new diet, and tomorrow my detailed logging will begin. My goal is to be below 20% body fat by the end of June. Then I will set another goal from there.

Did your trainer say below 20% by the end of june is attainable? Wow. I am 5'5 and was 136 in march and my bf then was 24% now I really wonder wat it is??? My goal is to at least be at 18% by june

Hey ck. losing 1/5 of my total fat is totally attainable in that amount of time. I don't have a trainer as my boyfriend is a trainer and has taught me everything I know. I only need help with my diet. My plan is to begin doing am cardio (empty stomach) and evening weights and then halfway through switch to shorter cardio sessions twice daily plus evening weights. I am really weak right now however, as I have lost a lot of muscle mass on this starvation diet. Although I am lighter than I have been in 2 years I am not as lean as I was at over 150 pounds. I cannot believe how much strength I have lost. I feel like I am starting from scratch on the weight training end of things.

Anyway I will post more today or tomorrow on my program. I love this board though, it totally help with accountability.

Okay so we started building my new diet plan today and my boyfriend is helping me build a new training program, so I will be in business by Friday at the latest. I am really pumped to revamp everything and looking forward to looking great in a bikini, something I haven't been able to accomplish in years. As for tonight I want to go out and eat something yummy but healthy on a patio somewhere, it's beautiful here tonight! Figures though it's the only night that all of my friends are doing something else.

Okay so I pigged out hardcore yesterday and the day before. Basically trying to deliberately make myself feel sick so that when my diet starts I won't miss eating sh*t. So now I am feeling so sick in fact that I am not starting until Monday. I figured that 3 days of detox is needed, eating clean but not quite diet clean, to ease myself into the diet. Plus it's my best friend's birthday tomorrow and I have to attend. That would just be stupid in my opinion to start a diet a day before an event like that and then tempt myself so soon. So I decided I can have one drink at the event and order something fairly clean. I know there are always going to be occassions that will tempt me however going to one the day after starting is asking for disaster.

I am really nervous about starting on Monday as I have never gone 6 weeks without cheating before, however when I finish, it is going to be such a huge personal milestone. Does an yone have any strategies for avoiding cheating? As in self talk, journals etc.?

Is it normal to be this nervous? But excited too! So the next 3 days I eat clean and transition. I am also going to mentally psych myself up. I am telling all of my friends that I am not doing anything social for the 6 weeks of my diet. No dinners out etc. I am not going to put myself through that. If any of my friends want to do anything, we can workout together or go rollerblading or for a walk.

Guys I need some inspiration to psych myself up. I want this so bad...

So tomorrow is the big day, day 1 of my 6 week training and diet blitz. I am really nervous, I want to do it soooo bad but it is going to be sooo hard. My log will be much more detailed from her on in. One quick question however. What are all of your opinions on am cardio, should it be done on an empty stomach? Or with a bit of food in the stomach? I'd prefer to just have a shake beforehand, however my diet guy is recommending carbs also.

The situation is complicated however and I am doubting my method. My original diet guyt is based in my city however I am not pleased with his methods, I had him refer me to a colleague of his, however the problem is his colleague is located hundreds of miles away and is supposedly too busy to have direct contact with me. So my diet guy consults his colleague and then tells me what to do. I am not super comfortable with this idea however, as I am not able to ask any direct questions and I do not trust the guy in my city to answer any questions that I may have appropriately.

I am sooo frustrated and don't know what to do. I am thinking I know more than I give myself credit for and that I should just tell them all to hit the bricks and do my diet myself, I mean it's not rocket science.

Any opinions ladies??? I am sooo motivated right now, however feel like I am being led astray by the idiot I am paying, who will not allow me direct contact with his colleague, sounds a bit fishy eh?

I'm not sure what to say about the diet guy situation. You can always try it & bail if it doesn't work for you. There's a lot of info here so not like you are totally out in the cold here....! There's always discussion about AM cardio - empty stomach or not - I do empty stomach for AM - I guess it would matter more are you comfortable doing that on an empty stomach? I prefer to not eat prior to cardio because I tend to get stomach aches. If you are starving hungry before cardio, then I'd probably eat something because I'd get sick from being too hungry.

You can always start w/ empty stomach & see how it works for ya.

I like doing empty stomach cardio, I feel nauseous with food in my stomach beforehand. So I made a big decision yesterday... No more paying people to tell me what I already know! If I were to ever decide to compete obviously I'd need help, however right now while just trying to lean down and stay healthy, I can do it on my own. (and with a little support from the EF ladies!)
