"Bank error in my favor" - need advice.

If you care at all, the teller will most likley lose her job over that much money if you don't return it. she'll def get written up either way but it's not worth costing someone their job IMO.

My friend was told by her friends father that in most cases like this, that the bank teller would probably loss her job still becuase she wil be found as a risk to the bank...best case he says is that the bank teller would get a slap on the wrist. But either way this will not go unoticed by the bank manager.

Let's here more advice...

But how do you miscalculate for $500? The error is still hers regardless. Even if the money is returned, it still looks bad for the teller because she is possible to make the same error in the future.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't say it wasn't her error. She'll get in trouble either way but for me, I'd rather not be the reason she got fired, because if the money is returned, she has less of a chance of getting canned.

I once laughed at my GF's mom for getting a speeding ticket.

Two weeks later I got a speeding ticket.

Real life karma works in mysterious ways.
