bader85's EliteFitness Contest 12wk log sponsored by NTBM/MrSupps

the farther away the ball the harder (and better) it makes it to do the pushup.. I literally barely have a foot on it the whole time so it doesn't roll away ;), not having it be completely solid also makes it harder.

I'm gonna try it out for sure. It's a great suggestion.

good work.. yes dont worry bout the numbers..just keep working hard !

So guys.. I don't know if I'm having a mental breakdown, or am just overreacting.. hah.. but I'm feeling seriously stressed.

A lot of things keep going through my head.. and I guess I just get to vent, get over it, move on and commit.

So here's my vent, comment or not, thanks for reading.

I get discouraged quite frequently looking in the mirror. It's not about muscle, and/or definition, because both are coming in.. but frankly it's more of past energy that I hold on to. If you saw my fat pictures.. then you know I was huge, and with that hugeness caused _severe_ stretch marks, extra skin, and more than external an emotional wound internally.. and I kind of get an old energy about myself when looking in the mirror. I still have major stretch marks on my hips, my skin is very loose everywhere and after 6-7 years of losing 145 pounds it never ever has tightened back up and even having surgery looks sub-par and saggy. I feel like no matter how hard I can work on my body, my genetics and past transgressions will never permit me to look the way I deserve. It literally makes me so angry and even a hatefulness to myself that I had to be so overweight, and get so fat in my life cause now I'll never have the 'eye-popping and jaw-dropping' transformation I truly want... even then.. are my expectations too high? (I don't just speak of the 12 weeks, but this is something I'm working on this entire year and as long as it takes)

I really do hope that people viewing logs and eventually voting see my effort, and that I haven't been a weight lifter for years, I don't have muscle memory, and getting the results for my genetics is entirely new territory. I hate that I'm so tall, and have such gangly arms, and my strength sucks ass and I can't even bench my own bodyweight. I can gain 5 pounds in a week, but good luck getting rid of it in a month.

I keep telling myself that I am doing this for me, yes, but everyone knows that is it so hard not to compare myself to others in the contest, with amazing results already.. bottomline, if I come out of this a better person physically and even other things, mentally, spiritually, whatever.. that it was worth it 100%. Being in the financial situation I am however, it is a much bigger motivation to me to win this entirely. I feel very passionate about bodybuilding, the last year or so I really started studying and learning so much about it.. if I could do this for a living I would. Without having a job, it almost feels like it right now, and it's something I feel peace in. Pushing my body beyond its current ability, feeling the changes inside and outside.. I really do feel joy in my life the way I've lived it from the start of the year. Which makes other aspects of my life really take a turn.. so I'm really in some cross-roads here personally.

One thing I'd ask from viewers is.. what do you want to see more of out of me? What can I log for you, show you, be more detailed about? Is there something I can help with to a viewer that maybe is in my same position, shares a common issue, has a common past? PM me if you want to be discreet. I'd really appreciate some feedback.

Once again, thanks to everyone for the kind comments, the motivation, the assistance. I know I say it often, but trust me that anyone who participates in this with me is very much appreciated and you get to know that.

Back to the iron, keeping the diet clean.. one more rep.

bader you have come so far in your young life. You were huge at one time and you were one of the few success stories in changing your life and loosing that. Do you know that right there you are a serious cut above easily half of the populatoin in this country? Check it out if you dont believe me....
Genitics....I dunno if I put all that much stock into it or not. I mean sure at top level competitores for bbng it makes a diff. But for all of us mortal peeps I really dont think it makes that much diff.
Bro Im gonna tell you I got skinny arms too. It just means that you have to find what works fort you. Yes I agree that benching is more difficult. Try what moya said about partial movement, maybe that will allow for you to put on more weight. As for me, I dont go all the way down to my chest and I dont do flat bench. With my old beat up shoulders I have found that this what works for me.

Not talkin down to you bro, just trying to help you out here....

I really feel that the large part of what you are feeling right is mostly the stress from the other parts of your life. And of course you are puttin out the work and you wanna see results RIGHT NOW DAMMIT1 and thats perfectly normal too bro. Just give it time and you will be surprised at how good you gonna be looking. Remember how long it took you to get huge before? Well this is take some time too bro, thats just the way it is.

The good thing about this is that you gonna have the NEWBIE GAINS!!!! What that is, is pretty much anything that you do right now in the gym is gonna be of big bennefit to you and the way you look. Everybody that half ass seriously works out wishes that they could get those newbie gains to come back some way some how. Thats how dramatic it can be.
Bro I am telling you we all have our good points and we all have our not so good points. There are a few of us old fuckers on here that are all beat up for whatever reason and just have old bods, bones and joints. We sooooo wish that we could do the things that we could when we were your age. But thats what this is all about. Learning to not only cope with what you have but to coax that into what you want it to be.
You have your challenges, there is a guy in South Africa and he some dam big challenges. I have my little challenges. RADAR is simply ancient and he has a shit load of challenges. Really bro its all just life. You will learn what works for you and you will improve what you have. As I said if you stick with this you really will be amazed at where you are right now and where you will be a year from now.

I keep telling myself that I am doing this for me, yes, but everyone knows that is it so hard not to compare myself to others in the contest, with amazing results already.. bottomline, if I come out of this a better person physically and even other things, mentally, spiritually, whatever.. that it was worth it 100%. It is a gr8 thing to feel this, and we, most of us anyway know exactly what you are saying here bro. It is addictive and it is uplifting. You will prolly find that you will never really stop it now that you have gotten into it. You may take time away from it but more the likely you will also come back and be better then ever.
Dude you have not even been at this a year yet and yet you took on this Recomp challenge. That right therer says something about you. You take a look at the population of this board and then you look at how many took on the challenge. Then you look at the peeps your competing against. You have the least experience of all! And yet here you are slugging it out and doing what needs to be done. Good for you man! Good for all of you peeps in this. But fosho good for you bader.

Bro you just keep on posting up in here just like this and posting your diet (challenges) and your workout (challenges).
You are putting your heart right out here in all of the honesty that you possibly can. That is all that anyone can ask of you.
Your log, the way you are doing it is your person put right here for all of to read about and feel for. We are not right there with you person to person but I can tell you the the good brothers and sistas reading this are right there with you heart to heart and our spirits are all connected.
This is a gr8 house bro and we are all a gr8 family!

Once again, thanks to everyone for the kind comments, the motivation, the assistance. I know I say it often, but trust me that anyone who participates in this with me is very much appreciated and you get to know that.

Back to the iron, keeping the diet clean.. one more rep.
Dam str8 bro! Back to the dam gym and ONE MORE REP!
Good for you bader, good for you bro!
Best of luck and best regards,
Zed:evil:

Bader..I've been thinking about your post all morning. I think venting is a great thing. If you've followed my log at all, you'll know I do it a lot! ;)

I'm not sure if you know this about me but I lost about 140 lbs over a 2-3 year period, starting in 2006. I wasn't always fat either. I was a pretty good athlete up until about 23 and then life happened and I allowed myself to lose control. I used to think if I just lose weight, I'd be happy but soon discovered the term "skinny fat" and started with a trainer in the gym and here I am a few years later, still working on it. I have a lot of the same issues with loose skin, stretch marks and that deeper emotional wound. I honestly believe that changing yourself in a whole lifestyle way is as much a journey on the inside, as it is on the outside. I actually went and got some therapy to deal with the emotional reasons why I got fat in the first place but it's a challenge to change how you look at yourself and I find when I'm the most stressed or the most tired is when I'm more likely to go back to that "fat mentality" and have the self defeating thoughts.

Physically, I've learned that I need to be consistent in my diet and training. When I fall too far off the wagon, I gain quickly and it's always harder to get off. I ran a couple cycles last year which gave me a boost because I saw results quicker and felt really good and it did make a difference in some of my problem areas (not a huge difference but a little bit). Mentally, I think you are on the right track. You have to remember where you've come from and the bigger picture about why you are doing what you do. Building a great body is always a work in progress. The one thing I've learned about being involved in the bodybuilding culture is that even the people who have bodies I'd kill for, are NEVER satisfied and often feel worse about their bodies then I do about mine. People like you and I may never be on the cover of a magazine but to lose 145 lbs, to me, means you have guts and a strength of character that few people have! You know what it means to work hard and bust your butt.

Keep learning as much as you can. I have literally spent hours reading anything I can get my hands on regarding diets, training methods, nutrition and the science behind it. Become an expert in your own body. And you know what..allow yourself those days of feeling off. We all get them. Be kind to yourself and do what you did..let it out, regroup and keep up the fight!

Long past the end of this contest date, I'm sure your story will continue to inspire others around you. :)

It's not letting me attach, and when i try and resize it still goes back to original, so sorry about them being so big.

Dude you are so coming along. You see yourself everyday so you loose sight of it all. Man you really are changing and pretty dam quickly too bro. You keep you ass in that gym and you stick to your diet. You are doing just FINE!

So.. today was my 3rd test pin and 5th tren.

Test as always, Gentlemen's Club smoooth as warm butta! Tren ace very smooth, its the little bite afterwards, but a little heat pack and soft rubbing and no problems.

So far, sides have been very very manageable if not even noticeable. One time right after a tren inject I had a coughing fit for a couple mins, but after reading it seems like it was just due to injecting a little too fast. No night sweats or insomnia, but I wake up occasionally at random but get back to bed pretty quick.

GCA is some great gear.

Workout 2/23/11
Weight 239.5 (eep!)

WU stepper 10 mins HR 140

DIPS: 4 x 10 (I'm thinking I'm pretty close to parallel now?)

One arm DB rows: 45 x 12, 55 x 10, 65 x 10 (+20 from last one)

Tricep Pushdown w/rope: 45 x 10 x 3

Lat Cable Pulldown: 55 x 10, 45 x 10, 45 x 10

Seated Tricep Extension: 45 x 12, 50 x 10, 50 x 7 (fail)

Laying tricep extension just to burnout with 15s, didn't count.

20 mins treadmill, 2.5 spd, 6.0 incline, 145 HR

Triceps and arms looked great in the mirror. Getting some good mass finally in the arms.. hopefully that's where my weights going..

I'm curious about anyone else.. but my bowls have lessened to once a day vs. 3-5 x a day. I'm going to take some tea to help if I'm really backed up (I don't feel like I am however). Is anyone else with such clean eating seeing a reduce in bowls too? I'm hoping my body is just using a lot more of what I'm giving it and there's not much left for waste? Sorry if this is TMI for others.. it was something I just started noticing a few days ago and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I know I don't talk much about my diet.. but it's pretty much that I haven't cheated at all, my girl can attest to that, she's pretty amazed by it. I do miss bread though.. evil evil bread.. she has to make cinnamon toast in the mornings.. ugh.

Damn! I have had pupils with stretch marks worst than that, Keep Killing that Shit ,once you have achieved your ideal size, I'll do my best in helping you get rid of them.

Great Job ! I'm impressed

Upper body isn't too bad. My biceps have a bitof stretch marks, armpit area, my middle back as seen in pics. The worst is my lower abs, hips and lower back as seen in pics. Oh and inner thighs.

But thanks Radar, I'd love any help I can get at that stage! :D

Cant ask for more then that bro.
RADAR you da man my good man!

Workout 2/24/11
Weight: 239 (today felt really lean, couldn't stop feeling the thinness between skin and abs.. I hope they start popping out soon)

WU 10 min elliptical, HR 140

So.. before I tell you my workout.. I am proud of this workout.. I almost wanted to throw up by the end... I will note however, that my lower back has been EXTREMELY tight and sore since Monday (even with icing, heating, and massage) it's still really feeling weak.. so I listened to my body and pushed it to what I felt I should without making anything worse.

20 front squats w/ bar
20 reg squats w/ bar

Deadlifts: 135 x 10, 135 x 10 (this is all I could do with back pumps and soreness still.. I wanted to make it through the rest with good numbers)

Wide grip upright rows BB: WU 95 x 10, 115 x 10
125 x 3r x 10s, 95 x 8 fail, 95 x 6 fail
(25 pounds more than last week)

Bent over DB Shrugs: WU 40 x 10, 60 x 10
80 x 3r x 10s, 55 x 20 burnout
(umm.. 30 more pounds from last week?)

HIIT tabata squat thrusts w/ 10lb DB
20 seconds work, 10 seconds rest, 4 minutes total: 8 sets.
1st set x 14
2nd set x 12
3rd set x 12
4th set x 10
(no more DB, shoulders freaking dead already)
5th set x 16
6th set x 12
7th set x 9
8th set x 8

Quads BURNING, lower back aching... this is where I could of puked... I can barely walk up/down stairs without my legs wanting to cramp and literally fail.

Walked on treadmill at 2.0 spd 1.0 incline (that's all I could manage..) for 20 mins.

Veins still aren't showing out the skin on forearms, but I can see them on heavy lifts.. maybe a week or two more...

I loved today.. it felt amazing. I know I'm going to be sore.

Workout 2/26/11
Weight 239.5

WU 10 min stepper 140

Incline Bench BB: WU bar x 20, 135 x 10, 135 x 10
Work: 165 x 3r x 10s, 135 x 5 fail, 135 x 5 fail

Machine Leg Press: WU 180 x 10, 180 x 10, 270 x 5, 360 x 5
Work: 450 (10 plates) x 3r x 10s, 270 x 10

SLDL: 10 w/bar, 115 x 10, 135 x 10
Work: 205 x 3r x 10s, 135 x 10

28 mins free elliptical, 145 HR

I have videos of the leg press and sldl (cell phone, shitty quality), I needed my girl to be close and spot on the inclines.

Inclines were up 10 pounds, but a total 10 sets, I only did 155 x 5 sets last week. I was shocked how easy this felt vs. last week. the tbol/tren must be working. Was pooring sweat. The last few sets started struggling on the third. I laughed that I could only do 5 at 135 before failing horribly at the end. muscles were totally dead.

Machine leg presses had two extra plates from last week, and finished out all ten sets. Does anyone know how much weight the machine alone?

SLDL were up 20 pounds, never used straps, but grip was really hurting last few ones but I grunted through it.

Loved the workout.. legs are jello!

Workout 2/27/11
Weight 239

fasted cardio
treadmill 45 mins (legs are sooorrree) 2.6 spd incline 2.0
HR 145

Feeling it today.. won't be surprised if its worse tomorrow though, always seems to hit me the second day after.

Had some crap happen this weekend, so sorry about the delay in posting.

Hope everything is ok Bader. Good job on the workouts too.

I was reading through and meant to comment on the whole bowel thing. It's very common to experience that with dieting. I always take digestive enzymes, the complete ones that work with carbs, fat, protein, and that can help. The other thing you can try is Dieter's Tea. It's herbal tea (drug stores or health food stores usually have it) and takes a couple days but a cup a day will help keep things moving. There's a couple Metamucil products (the clear one that dissolves in water) that has very low cals. Some of them are higher in calories and I hate including that kind of stuff in my daily counts.

Hang in there! You're doing great! :)

Workout 2/28/11
forgot to weigh

WU: 10 min free elliptical HR 140

40 dips
10 chinups, 10 pullups x 3

Rack pulls: WU 95 x 10, 135 x 10, 185 x 10
225 x 5r x 6s

20 min elliptical HR 145

Man.. I am sweating like crazy on! Awesome pump from the chinups/pullups. Lower back pumped from rack pulls, iced it when I got home.. hopefully it won't be as sore as last week.. that was awful..

Can't believe it's already march and the halfway point of the contest. It's amazing to see everyones transformations so far and usually it only accelerates after the half-way mark. Let's hope it goes the same for me. My abs are slowly but surely showing a little more each day.. just wish the skin would tighten..

My girls great grandma passed away today, she was going to be 98! This weekend we visited her a few times, it was rough. I never knew any of my great grandparents, and only knew one grandma til I was I think 6-7, then another grandpa til I was 13..so I don't deal with that stuff very well.. it makes me wish I could afford to visit my grandpa, he's getting close and the last I have, and we're very close.. used to work together on the farm all the time growing up.. sigh.

If you dont already have it get some Taurine. Use 1000/day or more if you need it.

205 x 3 x 10, 135 x 16 fail, 135 x 9 fail, 135 x 6 fail

One arm bent over rows:

Seated single arm concentrated bicep curls:
30 x 12, 35 x 8 fail

Tabata HIIT squat thrusts with 5 DBs:
20 seconds work, 10 second rest, 8 sets

Man those squat thrusts kill me.. ass is tight, quads are burned out, shoulders/arms insanely pumped and tons of sweat.

20 mins low intensity free elliptical.

My arms are looking thicker in the mirrors at the gym, triceps seem more pronounced.. my abs are sooo close I can feel it! I did declines to hopefully push out the lower peck so it helps tighten up the little fat flabs I have under my nipples. I'll take pictures and measurements tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, we are doing much better today, mentally/spiritually.. not so much financially.. heh.

Nice work bader. Your workouts are coming along very nicely my man. You have come so far bro, and you will contiue to go very far too. Really appreciated your vids too bro!:)
On your SLDL never stop pushin your ass backwards.

This morning did fasted cardio

HIIT style elliptical for 18 mins.

Going to do weights and low intensity cardio tonight.

I won't post all measurements but here's the highlights in the last two weeks:

1/2 inch off my chest to 43 1/2
my arms are a little smaller unflexed but remain 16" flexed (more fat loss I can only hope)
1/2 inch off my waist! 37" waist, my pants are LOOOSE
an INCH off my hips, 43", once again, LOOSE PANTS
an INCH OFF MY THIGHS, 27", umm.. did I mention my pants are loose?

So a total of 2 1/2 off my waist, 2 off my hips, 1 3/4 off my thighs, a 1/2 growth on my chest, and 1 1/8th growth on biceps flexed in six weeks. Can this be doubled in another six weeks? I'm looking forward to it! 34 inch waist.. Mmmmmm.

Workout 3/2/11
Weight 236.5 (I checked the scale 3 times and made sure it was balanced at 0)

WU 5 min stepper HR 135

Laying Tri Extension BB: 60 x 12, 70 x 10, 70 x 10

Close-grip Pulldowns: WU 75 x 10, 90 x 10

Tricep Rope Pulldowns: 40 x 12, 40 x 10, 35 x 10

Seated Tri Ext: 40 x 10, 37.5 x 10

Tabata HIIT squat trusts. Yes.. I do enjoy punishment.
I didn't count them, was with the misses and showed her how. I started with 10lb dbs but dropped after 3rd set, man this is a killer.
My quads are so pumped and dead every time I do this, and my butt is tight.. I love it. I want to puke and gasp for air too.

New pics are up in the gallery, I'll post a couple here. My thighs the past week I've noticed really lost a lot (maybe fat burning is finally hitting them finding more places to lose?) Maybe I'll make a video of how my pants fit now. I wore my swimming trunks to do hottub today after and they almost fell off me when they used to hug my lovehandles pretty bad.. The misses has commented a lot on how I'm definitely looking different.

bader you killin that shit all over the dam place. Your measurements tell no lie bro, you been working your ass off literally!
Nice man, very very nice!

So.. I have to say this workout got me in a pretty pissed mood... my numbers weren't better than last week, I felt pretty weak throughout it all.. the only thing I can blame it on is that the night before I could hardly sleep.. I kept tossing and turning, and didn't go to fully sleep til the sun had just come up.. so maybe that would hurt my strength a little, who knows.. but still pissed me off.

Just gotta shake it off and hit it hard today I guess..

trensomnia...
im not really getting it on this GCA gear... it is worse the first couple weeks when your blood levels rise, and then again at the end when they drop, at least for me...
...if it stays way too bad, consider ED injects (of half the ammount of course) if you are pinning EOD... or you could even possibly lower your dose, that is if it is really bad...

Good advice there from destroya for you bader. Also no carbs after 8:00 p.m. Maybe have a little protiene dense snack just before bed.

Hey guys.. a few days since update.. my apologies. Dealing with funeral service, my girls family being in town.. I got a little exercise in, and basically killed myself not eating the amazing funeral food desserts and family get-togethers meals.. luckily they all know I'm pretty serious in my body transformation quest and make me things on the side I can eat! That's so awesome, and I thank them generously for looking out for me. :)

Forgot to mention Saturday I did tabata squats at home and a bunch of pushups before going to bed, got a real good sweat and I just felt restless so it was good..

To respond to the sleep. Yeah, I do feel its the tren.. and at the time you say Moya into the cycle (2-3 weeks) I'll be starting my 4th week in a few days it probably has built up the most and hit me.. it doesn't seem to be as bad now, but it was for a day or two.. I even took some melatonin and benadryl and still couldn't get to bed very easy.

I hardly eat carbs, let alone any at night, and my diet hasn't changed, but I wonder if need to change my macros for the last month of the contest.. or should I just give up on ever looking 'shredded' with my horrible lose skin... which instead of tightening up after losing fat is just.. loose, very.. can't feel much between skin and muscle, but it won't tighten up onto the muscle..

I have noticed why my arms were smaller on measurements not flexed... it's my triceps up by my armpit.. the fat is gone, it curves upwards to my armpit instead of a straight line to the lat. Shaping is nice, just wish I had more mass.

well that is an idea there... grow more muscle to fill out your loose skin...
if you look at recent pics of Arnold, he has very loose skin... im guessing because he has lost a very large ammount of muscle...
if i were you, i would not give op on it yet, as you may be able to grow into your skin... it may take more time than we have on this competition, but you are heading in the right direction...
tanning can also help tighten the skin, im not certain, but with that in mind, maybe a peptide like melanotan 2 could do you some good... you may want to look into that...
never give up, anything is possible...

Yeah.. very true Moya.. I get to look at the long term of this. This year will be the year my body changes completely. It's going to take some time to fill out... I always hear people say the stretch marks are battle wounds and show the dedication of their change, so I'll just have to look at this positively til I do get bigger size. I'm just my impatient self I guess.. hehe. Thanks for the positive comments. I do tan regularly.. once to twice a week. I'm going to go more often finishing up this to look pretty good for last pics. With the nutrition macros I have, it's great that I'm still putting on muscle size while losing fat.. a definite win/win.. but I wish I could of started with one goal or the other and didn't need to do both. Muscle growth like crazy or just shedding fat with already good muscle size.. but I guess mine is the ultimate transformation to do both! :D I hope people don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with what I see in the mirror already, in fact, it's amazing to see changes in just 6 weeks. It feels like a long time but just a month and a half! I just know that I'm not satisfied and I'm dedicated to the end of my personal transformation.. I'll probably start a different log after the competition to continue my journey.

And bro you gonna change big time too. With your killa attitude and your work ethic your own mother wouldnt know you by the end of this year. Hell by the end of this comp. Bro you see yourself everyday so you dont see the changes in you that we all see.
You are getting there man. You keep doing what youre doing and you will be gr8!

By the end of the 4th set on rack pulls I was aching.. I grunted through the 5th, had to take a mini break.

Sweat was a pooring today. Everything felt great all around.. My shoulder wasn't feeling too great, so I went a little lighter on shoulder presses, but it still got me pretty good. Doing flies in miror I loved the way my figure looked, my lats from the rows were pumped, and my arms looked cut. Slowly the veins are coming out more. But tend to only be when working out still. Skin around abs feel a little tighter.

Might go back tonight for some extra cardio and a tan.

I changed Deads for squats this week, felt like something else..

Squats: WU Front w/bar 20, regular w/bar 20.
Focused on depth here: 135 x 10r x 3s.. my butt was maybe a 12 -16 inches off the ground, well past parallel. The last set was tough, butt was very tight. My lower back and quads were feeling good after this.

Wide grip upright rows w/BB: WU 20 w/bar, 95 x 10
75 x 12 x 3

Bent over DB Shrugs: WU 50 x10
65 x 12 x 4

30 mins precor free elliptical: HR 145

So.. I'm doing sets of 10-12 now, but man my strength just seems to be dropping compared to two weeks ago... I tried doing 95 again for the 3 x10 but after 4 I just couldn't get it up.. very disappointed.. I'm thinking that my body has gotten accustomed to my macros/nutrition and now I need to get in more fast acting carbs to get some energy. I drink N2KTS 1-2 scoops preworkout. For the last month I'm going to see about changing my macros and adding some more clean carbs. I'm hoping that demolishing fat the past 2 months my body will put it to muscle and not go back to fat. I'm 500-700 calories negative daily so I doubt I'd put fat on at this point. Maybe I get to talk to some experts on this.. if anyone knows what I could do feel free to post or PM me.

Kind of been feeling down the past two weeks since last photos. Visually not much has changed, but we'll see with measurements.

Bro let Roxy help you out with diet. By looking at her results and figures she is on it!
You gonna have ups and downs. But plz pm me some details on exactly how youre feeling, sleeping, feel sexually/emotionally etc.
Regards bro!

last two days did fasted cardio... and I would do hot tub and pool afterwards for 30 mins or so.. I'd go from hot tub from 5 mins to pool for 5 mins.. heard that's good on the lymphatic system.. I'd swim a couple laps when in the pool. Felt really rejuvenating.

Weight was 265.5 yesterday. Doing workout tonight.. got to wait til the monday madness leaves the gym or I might knock some dumbass out.

"I might knock some dumbass out"

I love it bro, youre intense and thats gr8!

Tabata HIIT squats 4 mins like usual.. Used 5 pounds for 4, dropped to 3 pounds for 2, and no weights last 2. mmm.. ouch.

20 mins hottub and pool every 5 mins. 10 mins sauna.

Finally started to see separation in the middle of my pecks. Tris are more defined. the lower head is really showing lot more, an the outer tri I've never really seen before is showing.. I'll try and get a pic that shows it, my lighting sucks... and my camara.

Veins were sick on the one arm rows. lots of grunts, really pushed it and felt great.

I took pictures, but I'm thinking of trying to find a place that has better lighting, my camara really isn't doing me justice with the definition and my abs are literally showing through better (a very very small defined 6 pack).. my delt separation from front and side, triceps, everything is looking better.. Tanned up a bit too which always help show... One more month guys, hope some things accelerate here.. really trying to cut.. but I don't know how much more I can go negative on calories without hurting things more than helping?

Roxy: my carb intake is 80-100grams/day. Grapefruit or bananas, and greens (spinach, broccoli, asparagus or green beans)

250-300g protein, 90g fat, 100g carbs(max, usually less)

Nice bader nice.
That is a brilliant report below your workout bro. Thanks for puttin that in for us.
Proud of you bader.

Thanks Zed.

I posted up the crappy photos this time.. next time I think I'll take them in my kitchen, the lighting seems to be a lot better... I'll attach some here.. the tan really looks good so far. The misses gets so pissed at me how easy I tan after just a couple sessions.

Thank PLJ, appreciate it.. You're looking freaking amazing in yours.

I am proud.. but not yet satisfied.. Still got a bit more fat to lose.. I'm trying to find a place that does Bodpod or water tank body fat measurements to find out exactly where I'm at by the end of the comp.

You have come such a long way bader. Very nice pics up there thanks for putting them up like that bro!
Good luck my man!

Guys.. my apologies for not updating.. I won't be able to update a lot for almost a week.

To make it short. I'm losing my place and my relationship has hit a very rough patch.. I have til the end of the month to find another place.. and not many people are qualifying two non-working and non-receiving unemployment applicants... and maybe just myself with the way things are going.

Thursday I did fasted cardio in the morning and was wanting to go back but this stuff hit the fan...

I'm not going to have access to internet or gym either.. I'm going to see if I can go to a friends place and do p90x and use weights. I don't know if he has a bar, just dumbells..

I'll try and keep in touch daily, but can't promise anything for a week or two.

Much love to all.

Badar..I'm soo sorry to hear about your stresses! I wish I could help you! Hang in there and let us know if you need anything. I'll be thinking of you. :)

Quick update.

Last few days did some p90x routines.. Chest/back, arms/shoulders, legs/back.

Today I went with my friend to his crossfit, you get two guest days to try it out.

WU: 10 pullups, 10 pushups, 10 squats x 2.

I did the 'newbie' workout.

2 sets of:
10 pullups
15 military pushups (chest to ground)
20 situps
30 low squats

finished in 6 minutes... I was a little sore still from yesterday and my abs from the situps were burnt.. fully rested I probably could get that done in 4.30 to 5 mins I"m guessing, good workout though.

Then did row machine 1000m in 4 mins.. my legs were toast.

Still going strong with everything... veins are becoming much more noticeable even when not working out.. I'll see if I can borrow a video camara and make some movies... I'm down 3 inches off my waist.. weight is 234.

hey bader, I like your blog and it is interesting to follow your progress... I like your initial post too where you fully posted all your stats. I'm not a platinum member so I can't view pics or anything like that but I just wanted to say I liked how you laid out your stats and diet your planning on sticking to. at the end of this are you going to bod pod it to get another accurate bf% reading?

one other thing I wanted to mention, your 25 right? so am I so this may apply to you too... but you can ask someone more knowledgeable then me...

I find I can readily keep my heart rate at around 160 (a little higher then 140-145 territory) and stay in ketosis and do cardio. if I go over 180 though i get kicked out of ketosis. I figure that is probably my body's switching point for gluconeogensis and the point at which you begin to burn muscle instead of fat. ... my point in all this is you could probably do cardio a little harder then HR at 140 safely and not burn muscle//much muscle. just a thought.. you had said your goal was to get shredded. I know on a full keto diet I am gaining muscle and reducing fat and I started at about 19%. that may change when you get much lower but ... just thought I would share my experience.

good luck to you.

Thank you, glad to have you along.

I'll put up some tinypic links for those who can't view my attachments.. However you can just click below my avatar on any of my posts the 'gallery' button and you should be able to see ALL of my photos there.

I would love to know where I can find a bod pod or water tank for my BF measurements... any idea where I can find info on how to find a place.. I'll drive some distance to find out.. it's something I'd love to get an exact number on.

hey bader. i haven't been snoopin around the other contestants' logs lately but i did see your pics the other day and i must say you're lookin fantabulous my friend. keep it up :) you're doin great.

Hey bro you continue to improve. Keep KTS and continue your good and hard work.
Post up your current workout too plz.
Best regard and good luck to you my good bro!

I just google searched "bod pod" and I found a couple of them within a few miles of my house. but then again I live in the mesa/tempe/phoenix valley in Arizona and it is a big place. if your farther out in the boonies probably not, but there are/should be alot of sports nutrition places around in any major metropolitan area... I paid 60$ to get an accurate reading on my bf and lean muscle mass. I think it helped me an amazing amount to get my diet/calories dialed in correctly, otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue on what does and does not constitute "dieting".

Hey bader bro where you at man?
Dam now Im gettin worried that you gettin sick too, bro I hope not!
Post up bro!
Missing you.

Yeah bader if you google Bod Pod locations you can find out where they're at. They are pretty pricey though man.
I'm getting one done this friday, and on the 15th. I wish you the best of luck these last couple of weeks man!!!

Ok.. so I kind of got things manageable for now.. and should be able to update again daily again on workouts.

The past week I've done cross-fit and p90x workouts.. the workout are a ton of stuff, too much to list.. but my endurance definitely improved and I think it's helped shed a bit more fat.. I'm at a solid 234.

Veins are starting to show without having to workout or get pumps.. especially on my left forearm/bicep. I seriously need new pants.. I can't believe how ridiculously loose and plain too big they are now. I couldn't find a nice video camera while I was away, but I'll try and use my regular cameras video mode and show you guys how they fit me now..

I totally forgot to measure myself last set of photos, can't believe no one mentioned it! So I'll get those done on Friday with the new set of photos. I'm thinking my waist is going to be down another inch.. my thighs maybe more.. my pants are like parachute pants on my thighs now.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

OH.. RE: Bod Pod

I found out there's one at the University of Utah in Salt Lake.. about 5 hours away..and only 30 bucks! I'll have to see if I can get that done before the contest is over.. but with how things are.. it's going to be difficult. I might be able to a few days after.. I'll find out and get back. I would love to find out exactly everything.. it will help me dial in my nutrition for the next round of my transformation. I wish I did it when I started.. I'm definitely thinking I was 20% or more looking back at my starting photos... even if I dropped 5% so far.. thats roughly losing 15 pounds of fat and gaining 5 pounds of muscle. Measurements are definitely proving that could be the case.

umm.. ow.. killer, sweat was pooring. love it.

Yeah Zed, it felt good to change things up a little, definitely noticed a difference in strength doing p90 again and intensity.. my endurance was shot though the first few times..

oh, and on friday for my birthday a bunch of friends got together and played 3x3 basketball.. I had to correct my shot immensely cause I was overthrowing like crazy... the ball felt like a balloon, hah... and a few of my friends gave me huge compliments on how I'm looking, they haven't seen me for a year or so.

Still got a lot to go.. but I'm excited to see if I can plan somehow to get to Utah and do a Bod Pod. When I take photos friday I'll get some videos too and see if I can find old pictures of how I fit into pants before..

Talk about destroying my tris.. the bench got me intense just to start off. Great pump.

Still wish more definition was coming in.. don't know what I can do.. skin won't tighten up around waist anymore..

tanning might help tighten up the skin a bit... but like i said before, you may just have to grow back into... fill it up with muscle...
how you liking that tren so far?... gettin' mad at the weights? i just finished mine this week :(

'let's capture this A.M. mayhem'...

How is your diet doing bro? If you need or want help with that PM me.
Would like to see you doing more reps now, it might help with the loose skin too bro.
Best regard and good luck bro.
And bro you are already a winner in my book. I cant believe the changes in how you look man!

re: Moya. Yeah, I haven't had a chance to tan the last two weeks due to life.. i should be able to again, hopefully I have some credits left. To be honest about the tren, I feel the sides.. restless at night, insomnia sometimes, definitely body heat.. but my numbers haven't gone up and I don't feel stronger. It's been about a month i've been trying heavier weights and it just won't go.. especially if I need to do high rep sets. Maybe if I wasn't on it my numbers would be going down.. hard to say. Also I feel the libido on test, but I don't really have that 'on' feeling. I don't know if its being calorie deficient.. but at the same time, being on t3, clen, and tren.. I'd think I'd be dropping fat/weight quicker.. already being around 1000 calories deficit, that would be 4 pounds a week of fat. Been more like 1.5 of fat a week so far. It'd be easier to fill up if I didn't have to worry about losing weight and have a good clean bulking diet.. almost wondering if I should of done that from the beginning and let the extra muscle help burn off fat... maybe I'll plan that in the summer when Ive trimmed down enough. It all depends on what my bf% and hopefully getting a bod pod test soon.

re: Zed. Diet is on spot.. but for the last two weeks I think I"m dropping carbs and fat more.. i'm open to suggestions.

Workout 3/31/11

let me preface this by saying I got pissed off at how fucking weak I am.. and didn't have that great of a mood.

WU 10 min stepper HR 135

Deadlifts: WU 95 x 10r x 2s, 135 x 10
145 x 10r x 3s

I stopped there, my lower back was hurting and didn't want it to hurt so much I couldn't do the rest of my workouts.. and it did anyway.

Wide grip upright rows: WU bar x 10 x 2s,
95 x 10r x 4s

Power shrugs: WU 95 x 10 x 2
135 x 10, 225 x 10 (grip gave out) 135 x 10

Precor free elliptical 28 mins, lvl 7 and 12 intensity, 4 min intervals
HR 145-150

how many calories are you on per day right now?... 4lbs a week seems like a lot too lose, maybe you should have aimed for more like 2... and gaining some muscle like you mentioned...
your body could be going into preservation mode, its a possibility...
what kind of test are you on again? if its prop you should feel it, but if its a longer ester, some people report as long as 4 weeks before they really feel it...
tren does not just give me instant strength, i know for some it does... if i train my damn hardest i feel good if i gain 10-20lbs on my squat or deadlift on a cycle... im sure the dieting is effecting that... hell, my bench went down...
stay strong... youre doing great...

Right now i'm at 2250 calories.. my BMR is roughly 3000 calories.. not including calories burned from working out.

I'm coming up on my 7th week of the test/tren.. it is Test E, and it is a smaller dosage of 300/wk so that might also be why. More to preserve muscle than anything with diet. I was really feeling the tren about 4 weeks in, my numbers were going up every week pretty substantially but the last month has been very stagnant. Hit a wall/plateau per se. Definitely stronger than when I started though! Heh.. so can't complain much..

I'm just saying that essentially 1000 calories a day would be 7000 calories a week.. so my bad.. it is 2 pounds of fat a week.. but with workout it might be closer to 1250 neg a day. still. 2 to 2.5 lbs/wk after 10 weeks.. unless I've really put on that much muscle I don't think I've lost that much fat... body fat measurement will be very interesting to see though.

going for fasted cardio now, workout tonight.. pictures and measurements today too! Have a good one..

Thanks for the encouragement, Moya!
