Bad pip .. what could I have done?

I've been shooting test c and now test e into my quads twice a week. Done 11 pins now. Last week shot into my left quad and it is very sore. I don't think its infected or abscessed as it is not red/hot/swollen and I feel fine. It just feels like a bad bruise. Its been 6 days now and has slowly been getting better but due for legs today and not sure if I'll be able to do it. It hurts mostly along the outside edge of my leg, when I stretch it. Ibuprofen takes the edge off the pain and with it I can do bodyweight squats but still hurts a bit walking up stairs.

What could I have done?

Last week I finished my first vial of test c and started a new vial of test e. I actually had half ml of test c and half ml of test e in the same syringe. I was a little worried something was up with the e, but did the next pin on the other quad with a full ml of the test e with no pain at all.

You more than likely injected into a vein. Stop using your quads for a while. Rotate your glutes and shoulders, this will give you 4 areas and less veins to hit.

I use 22 gauge 1.5", and a separate draw needle. I also have 23 gauge 1.25".

I have never shot into my delt, but will have to start sometime. Not looking forward to the virgin pip. Should I use the 1.25" for the delt?

I don't know how to do my glutes myself. It looks hard, and a little worried about hitting the sciatic nerve.

Use 25 guage 1 1/2 to shoot. Their is no need in subjecting yourself to unwarranted pain with a 22 guage. You can shoot anything you want with a 25 guage and its painless.

My local med store doesn't carry that size, I'll look into ordering some.

I do typically take about 30 seconds to inject, then leave the needle in for 30 seconds or so before pulling out and massaging the area. The time before last on the left side I did nick a vein and had a bit of a blood geyser going but it seemed like it was the next one (one week later) that caused the pain. Maybe it was the previous one and just took some time. There was a little bruising from the internal bleeding. I do always aspirate but don't think that guarantees that you won't hit a vein as there is a bit of needle motion as I inject.

On a side note, at the end of my first vial I noticed a couple little rubber bits in the bottom which freaked me out. They were 'cores' from the draw needle but thinking it probably would not be a good thing to get those inside you.

Is there less chance of hitting a vein in the delts? what about other muscles like bi/tri/hams. I've heard to not use calves.

Fuck bro... 22 is ridiculous... Order 25" if you cant get them locally... You only need 1.5 in the glutes... 1 is fine in delts and quads
