That's teh suckass. Potential employers could easily be prejudiced against you even for NG verdicts. I did time in a Fed prison, but one other NG on my record really makes me look like a repeat offender. I'm trying to get that NG expunged right now.
i got some bullshit that didn't even make it to a trial, it showed up.
sucks, cause without that i could say i've been trouble free for a decade.
instead i gotta say 7 yrs

What kind of background check? There's a big difference between a private investigator, an online service, and the intelligence community.

Try getting a TS clearance from the US government. Nothing like a bunch of black suits going to your first grade teacher to ask about you.

Funny on that.

If you want to be an employee or lowly contractor. Clearance is needed.

If you're part of an important contracting company with a fancy big contract - you can work anywhere in the world, and never need one. My old employer got a huge DHS 9/11 contract. I did tons of work for them at offices around the world.

Never once did I have to ask 'permission' (ie: clearance) from the US Government. Not that i had anything to hide. Kinda funny.

Of course, later on - after my work on nationally sensitive data. Just to hold a freakin' M16 and get lousy pay in the army - I had to get every part of my body and life checked out. Too funny!
