Back problems...

Hey guys/girls/and undecided people...
Having some issues with my back the past 3 years usually after the gym or heavy lifting (no I'm not lifting with my back I use my legs). Today I picked up my son in my arms literally 20mins post work out and my lower back went out on me. I'm only 29 and have been to the hospital a few times because of my back and all they do is give me drugs. Anyone have any better ideas? I can't take this shit anymore. I feel crippled and helpless now like there is no hope and this will always happen to me... could really use some help...

sell the drugs and use that money to get some better healthcare or something. because everyone sits in front of the computer with bad position, back problems are extremely common nowadays so doctors usually dont bother treating them properly. tell them you got these from lifting and they might be more inclined to help you.

what drugs are they? if theyre hydrocodone you might be able to sell them. you can def sell oxycodone and morphine for cash with oxy being much more popular. dont just go out to the 'hood' and ask some random shady asshole if he can sell them for you, you will never see your drugs or money again. you might decide against this because it might seem immoral its up to you. i dont know how much these pills go for because its been a while since i dabbled in narcotics

review your technique. id suggest doing assistance/rehab exercises for your lower back. stretch your back. DONT keep testing your back to see if it hurts. if it hurts when you stretch/lift back off and take it lighter. if the reverse hyper machine really lives up to the hype then it might be worth purchasing i cant give any comments on this but apparently its great rehab work. have you seen a physiotherapist or chiropractor?

Man i get some lower back pain every so often from work. Pulling slips are lifting motor heads on some cat engines. I normally go to ciapractor a couple times and good as new try it and see. I know will take a xray before even messing my back especially if i have back pain to make sure its nothing else (sorry for any bad spelling and grammar)

Noodles, bro, go to the chiro. I get weekly adjustments done and it does miracles for lower back pain. I've had hell with my back since I ignored an injury in boot camp, so when I finally got around to doing something about it I had been down at least 5 times for a couple days.

Started getting weekly adjustments at the chiro last year and haven't had a single problem since. It's only about 25 bucks I think, if your insurance doesn't cover it.

This ....^^ I find working as a carpenter up outta town day in and out really stresses my lower back. What I have found to work immensely is finding a good physio/ chiropractor. One who will teach you the proper exercises In order to help you correct your problem at home on your own time with just the odd visit to check progress/ get an adjustment. Stretch your lower back every day and invest in a foam roller. Or even make your own with some PVC pipe. I forget the name of the lower back stretches but the ones I liked were like a cats camel or some shit I forget the name of it. You bridge your back like a cat then reverse the motion dropping your ass and arching it pressing your butt towards the floor. Also get up on your hands n knees, and stretch out like superman opposite arm and leg "reaching" far as you can.. Do sets of 10. Last one and my fav, lay on your back.. One leg flat out. Other leg bent at a 90.. Bring your knee towards chest, once close enough grab wit both hands and pull knee into chest, focussing on feeling the leg flat on the floor being stretched outwards, or away from your head per say, do reps of ten pulling knee towards your chest then on the 10th rep hold for some time, you should feel your Lower back and hips of the opposing leg being stretched if done correctly. Hope this helps.. Ps incorporate these every morning and evening if you can and watch the improvement daily. May not even need the chiro.. Also if you can focus on core work, planks, and that kegal muscle that you squeeze to hold a pee back.

Ride it like you stole it!!

yea my dude... been to the chairo, hospitals, back specialists, physical therapy... next step is accupuncture i think. I was a glazier for 6 years (setting glass in skyscrapers) and that beat my back baaadddd. Now im a v.p. behind a desk and driving a lot, but i go to the gym and after about 6 mos of quiet, bang it pops up again... 29 yrs old and i have the back of a 65 year old... i feel like i walk on egg shells because of it.. its a horrible way to live... im not complaining or anything, but man i can catch a break.

ill try a few of these... see if i can figure it out... theres a few yoga poses that really help...

foam rollers def help, and inversion tables are amazing... i need to buy one

TB-500 is awesome. try that and see if you feel a difference, it has helped me.

you are gonna have to learn to not go heavy. what is happening is you are hurting yourself during your workout, but since you have your adrenaline going, you don't even feel it till the next day or over time it continues to pound your body.

also your job is contributing and your sleep is too. dunno what you do for a living but i know for sure the way you are sleeping is further straining things.

chiropractors work on the BONE, but do little or nothing for soft tissue or muscle spasms. acupuncture is a temporary fix, it can help with the pain but if you keep pounding away its gonna keep coming back.

stretching is important, learn yoga and do it after your workouts and before bed.

Steve is right about sleep, which also brings up matress type.

What do you sleep on?
