back muscle hurt when flexed

On my 4th day of training and my first day was back and shoulders, now i got this pain in my lower back specially when I flexed , how do I know if I strained a muscle or I'm just sored, thank you.
 
lets hope it isn't a strain. it is likely just a pull, it will get better with time. you can apply heat to it and try some massage or cupping to get the blood flowing better.. i would also do some hot baths to loosen it up

but yeah only time will heal it. try not to take any pain killers for it and let it heal without interference. in the future go easier if you are new to weight training
 
If it's a dull pain that sort of feels like a bruise, it is most likely just sore muscles. If it's a sharp searing pain that feels like a knife is going into your skin, then it's most likely an injury and you need to go get it properly checked out by a doctor.

Have a hot bath tonight to help loosen up the tight muscles.

If the pain doesn't go away in a few days, book an appointment with your doctor and get it properly checked out.
