Arms will NOT grow...advice?

although im an advocate of full body workouts i must say i disagree with what this guy writes. I can say that in my first 2 years of weight training (A time in which i had no idea what i was doing) i put serious size onto my arms without ever working legs at all. I didnt even know what a deadlift was. I curled heavy as hell and did pressdowns till my arms fell off and they grew like weeds up to around 18 inches. Now 5 years later theyre still around 18 inches maybe a bit bigger but i quite measurin but the rest of me has caught up.

he accounted for the genetically gifted, btw.

Barbell Curls...and then progress to cheat curls to give your nervous system adapted to heavy loads... Alternate...

Worked real well for me...

Genetics.. I have 17.5" arms but my pecs dont ever get huge. I dont work my arms too much and beat the shit out of my pecs..

re-read and you just solved your own problem ....

McRobert thinks 16" arms are an impressive feat, mind.

for people looking to get to 16-17" (and yes, before someone pipes up about have 20" guns before they ever joined the gym most ppl have to work for that) the squats n milk is a good idea.. but after that I'm of the belief you need to train your arms directly and frequently like every other bodypart. 2-3 work sets a couple of times a week of lying extensions, bb curls or some other basic work won't overtrain them and can do nothing but help with your big lifts. But it's all ultimately genetic, I know the average BSer online will claime 20-22" 'gunz' but it doesnt work like that for most ppl. personally I haven't had mine past 18.5" no matter how much fat I carried or how I trained.. maybe time for the SEO :p

of course focusing on curls when you cant do 5 bw chinups is a waste of time

anecdote: my bro-in-law is a lot stronger than me but doesn't train anything besides squats, bench, and curls. Three times a week, he grabs a curl bar w/ 95-115 and swings around through 3 sets of 10. I do no curls, but I row and chin weekly. We lifted the other day and after rowing, I decided to curl a bit and was a crap load stronger than him on curls.
