i am new to this site, i am female, 5'5, 150, bf 14% dieting down to compete in my first show 9 wks out, training-cardio is now 2x/day, weights5x wk. i am hoping there is someone that competes that is in the same position as me-i am bulimic, working to recover, struggling, and being triggered by the dieting down process. i feel very alone in this bc i am in recovery from other addictions but w/this one i don't know another bb in recovery also competing. some people are telling me i'm crazy to try, others say it's possible but this is making my life miserable. is there anyone that can relate? trapqueen

There are a lot of girls competing here .. welcome to EF!

I would think that if you are 'healthy' proceeding with this comp could be good for you, however, if you are still fighting the demons, I would focus on your health first and foremost. :rose:

You can start a thread, and I'm sure the ladies (& gents) can offer you more specific advice.

I've got my own variety of other weirdness, but no diagnosed issues. However I've been thru the BB competition wringer w/ 5 attempts (had to bail out due to personaly drama) at shows & 3 completed. Whatever the outside influences are, the comp prep process by itself gets you pretty much down to basics. If it means that much to you, you will also find it to be one of the more challenging but also rewarding experiences of your life. Aside from just the doing of the show, I've found out more about myself & my abilities from each cycle of preparation as well as improved my ability to manage the stresses related to that type of extreme activity.

I'm new to the message board. I'm beach volleyball athlete and my main concern is strengh and endurance. I'm 5'9 132 pounds, and about 15-16% body fat. I've just started to dive into the world of supplements (legal ones only) and I don't have very much knowledge in this area. I just started to take nitrix No2 and mega creatine (efervesant form) from gnc for about 3 weeks. I'm just not sure if it's this is the correct supplement for the results I need. My workouts our pretty good but on High intensity exercises (plyos etc) I fizzel out really quick. Any suggestions?
