What is it they say - Long time listener ... first time caller.
Well - Long time reader - first time poster. (well second actually)

Just wanted to say hi -
I am looking at getting into figure or fitness - competing in the fall if all goes well ....

(I said If ..... :verygood: )
anyone in the GTA ??
 
OK - I know my hello was short and sweet - so I will take the plunge and elaborate.
Thought I would add a bit about me

5’10” 130 lbs – a mom - always been into sports and fitness. I spent years as a model – only to figure out that … I was hungry – way too skinny – tired all the time – pasty pale and white - my hair became awfully weak, my nails were bendable – everything that I prided myself on before I became a model was gone … from complete nutritional malnutrition. For someone with a background in bioligy, kinesiology, and anatomy - I was an awful example of how to live.
I made a decision to get into fitness and swimwear modeling – and started eating and training again – and it was such a beautiful feeling to “feel” healthy again.

I became quite ill as a result of starving my body and was diagnosed with cervical cencer at 24-– went through treatment where they pumped my body with lovely chemicals and garbage – only to once again see all those things I was proud of slip away.

Since – I have gone on to have a daughter – and become a regular gym rat and health fiend. I know my body inside and out – my good days – my bad days – when my body isn’t responding well to the garbage I have put into it – or when it feels completely alive and nourished when its treated well.

My other half and I both have an extensive love for the sport of ‘body” building. “Body” in so much that its as much building your mind as it is your limbs)
He’s gone on to run health centers of clubs –and coach his staff to train the person not just the motion, a methodology that we both firmly believe in. But no matter how much I love ‘em – sometimes a girl just wants to talk about this kind of stuff with other women that are in the same place she is.
I have spent the last few years getting back into gymnastics and trampoline, and of late – I am opening myself up to the rest of the world. (sounds really ridiculous I am sure – but I have always been a reserved person – never shy – just never really overly social with people I don’t know.)

Anyhow --- That’s a quick summary of me --- I hope to get to know those of you on here well – and I am sure learn lots – share some succeses and issues – and maybe even lend a hand (or thought) .

Welcome to EF Deyra --- sounds like you might be taking on FITNESS??? (I don't have the energy to do flying splits - I'll stick to holding a front double bicep on stage for 45 sec :) )

Look forward to your posts - lots of very active girls here - lots of support, love & fun fitness stuff!

- current training & cardio schedule m-f 20 min. cardio... weights... 10 min cardio b4 i leave the gym

- any salient medical concerns--- none at all

Aloha ladies!

I already introduced myself in the Girl Talk section.

It's great to be here. Currently I just got done doing my first figure competition at my state show. I won the Novice Figure overall and took first in my class for the Open. Lost the overall in that one by a couple points. The girl that won the overall went to the USA's this year and placed 2nd in her first national show so that was awesome to see.

Right now, I am training to go to the USA's next year.


- your stats: weight, height, bodyfat%
I'm sitting right around 118-119lbs. Prior to my prep, I did a 9 month bulk and got up to 131 lbs. I'm 5'2". I don't measure bodyfat, but go by the "mirror."

- your goals -- what are you trying to accomplish?
Right now I am training for the USA's next year. I want to add on LBM. Working on bringing up my glutes ;) and adding more roundness to my shoulders.

- your current training & cardio schedule
I just got back on DC training. Haven't been doing any cardio since my prep, but will start to do some maybe 2-3x a week; 20-30 min. sessions.

- your current meal plan, including with each meal, portions, what you are eating and when you eat.
I just cleaned up my diet. This is how yesterday looked like.

*metrx shake
*beef/rice
*metrx shake
*bb bagel (naughty me! no protein. :D)
*beef/rice/veggies
*whites/rice
*protein shake


- any salient medical concerns--none
