With appendicitis, there is usually lower right quadrant abdominal pain that is most severe when you let go of it after pushing on it (called rebound tenderness). Yes, there would likely be fever and nausea, possibly vomiting, and NO appetite. Could it possibly be a hernia? I would get it checked out, because a strangled hernia can be very dangerous. If you have insurance, they may be able to do an abdominal CT scan--that way they could see herniation or a swollen appendix. If you suddenly start feeling REALLY bad, get the hell into the emergency room!
