I hope you folks don't mind me crowing a bit, but...
The first time I did max deads at the gym, a guy stopped to help me rack the weight. (I have to pull out of the cage b/c I pull sumo and there's no dead platform.) He gave me props, saying deadlifts were a great exercise, but he was afraid to do them.
Then, today (my 2nd time), another guy came over when I was unracking the weight and said, jokingly: "You sure are quiet over here, we'd never know anyone was over here!" My sarcasm meter was broken, so it took me a minute to get it. (I was making noise when setting the weight down btw reps.)
He then asked "So, are you training for Ms. Universe or something?" and said "That's a lot of weight you've got there." He helped me unrack the plates, and I told him I'd been training PL for about 2 months. His eyes about fell out of his head.
I rock!
