anyone on here do pyramid training?

I am looking to build up my legs, for years I only focused on upper body which I look back on and laugh at myself for being so stupid. Now I want to catch up on my legs. Would pyramid squats and deadlifts doing low weight high rep then pyramiding up to high weight low rep work good for playing catchup?
 
I like doing pyramids with bench press, I get down to just the bar and go back up to 300 via 20lbs
