Just wondering if I am the only one who does one arm dumbell bench presses, one arm dumbell incline presses, one arm dumbell overhead presses. I really like this, I feel I can get a deeper stretch this way then when pressing dumbells with both arms at the same time. It also seems to help weak points in one arm catch up with the other arm. Anyone else like these?

I think if I tried using one arm without weight in the other it would roll me off the bench :)

LOL its easy guys, you take your free hand and and put it up around head level on the bench and hold on, you just pull with your hand and it evens you out. You should try them sometime.

I used to do it at home, becuase I only had one dumbell :)

talk about core workout!

I also used to do one arm shoulder presses. Pretty cool.

I am glad that I am not the only one that uses them. I have been doing one arm everything with dumbells lately. I feel a lot stronger and a lot more balanced now. Your right, good core workout.

What about it dude? It can be done. I have a friend who does the 1 arm dumbell incline press for 3-4 sets of 8-12 with the 120's.
Hell I am no pussy lol, I guess I must have came off like a newbie or a weakling with the post. I have gone as heavy as the 100's for 3 sets of five on a very slight incline(not too far from being flat bench) doing one arm at a time and yes I was only holding the one dumbell and using the other arm to hold the bench. You will also have to slide the same side leg(same side your holding the dumbell) out a little further to feel balanced. You see by holding only one dumbell and doing one arm at a time you are expending less energy and thus you should find in the long run(after getting used to the feel of the exercise) that you will be stronger this way, or at least thats what has happened to me and others that I have talked to about this. I actually got this idea from a college football offseason training program. I had a friend who knew one of the football strength coaches at Virginia Tech(he had been to a bunch of the camps etc) The coach hooked him up with a shit load of workouts and workout techniques and ideas. He told me about it and I tried it. It also works by alternating one arm at a time holding dumbells in both hands through out the exercise but I much prefer only holding a dumbell in the hand that I performing the exercise in. This allows my grip to stay fresh in the hand/arm not being used and places no stress or fatigue on the other arm before it actually gets to perform the exercise. Its all personal preference I guess, I just really enjoy them.
