Any of you guys ever get laser treatment done on your face?

I am a newbie to the boards but was just reading this thread and wanted to comment. I am currently doing laser hair removal treatments on my back and chest/stomach ... and so far I am impressed and have only gone through 2 sessions for each.

This is a very informative thread though as I was wondering what types of procedures there are for your face ... I am 22 but often get told I look like I am 28 and that hurts the ego a bit .. I was on Accutane as a teen as well but not early enough before the damage was done.

there are different lasers used for different types of treatments. the more dramatic the results mean more intense, and longer the healing time, of lasers used.

if layers of skin are literally burnt off your face, its gonna result in damage that will take time to heal. for more intense treatments anasthetic is used.

I'm going for my free consultation tomorrow morning. Gonna see what this shits all about. I'm hopin to get rid of any acne I have as well as any redness, blemishes or scars...whether the laser treatment can do this or not, I dont know. I'll have to ask the D.O.C tomorrow. Any of you fucks ever tried this sorta thing?

I've never tried laser before but as said above there are many different lasers for specific problems. Your Dermatologist will be able to advise the best procedure.

In regards to the redness, this may be rosacea. I've heard that (IPL) Intense Pulsed Light treatments are the best for this...it collapses the damaged vessels (which may be allowing the blood to pool and cause the redness). Also, ask you doctor about the lasers they use for remedying scarring, I heard some may cause fat loss in the face.

Good Luck!

You may also want to consider the more minor microdermabrasion techiniques...these are not as invasive and the affects tend to be cumulative after a few (less costly) procedures. Another alternative would be chemical peels, again they are of varying degrees. (superficial to deep). I plan on starting the IPL's in about a month, I'll let you know if they are effective.

I've had over 25 laser treatments. GentleLase, EpiTouch, Aplogee, Palomar Este lux. I have more hair on my upper arms and shoulders than before. It has not cleared anything up, in fact I think I have laser induced hair growth. I have blown over 20K in six years. The people who it worked for who are bitching about still having "a little" hair,,... christ... ur so god damn lucky I can't even begin to tell you.

I have pale skin and thick black body hair on my back (mostly shoulders), chest, stomach that I want gone. I would be happy with some hair on my chest left over. How much should I expect to pay aprox?

I did a few treatments on my face for deEp acne scars. It sux! Smelled like burning plastic. It made my face smoother but it didnt get deep enough and the effects disopated after about 1 year. If you have deep scars you need to go under and get deep laser treatment so it gets to the bottom of the scar.

by the way it HURTS LIKE A BITCH

maybe i should get laser treatments so i can get rid of my 45 year old lines and skjn on my face and look 25 again. but i think i will just age gracefully. :)

Laser is not permanent hair removal!!!! Only eletrolysis has permanent results. Dont get fooled, guys.

electrolyis would be prohibitvely expensive, painful and time consuming for body hair. they literally zap each hair follicle individually.

i dont get all the flap about men wanting to remove body hair anyhow. looks natural and masculine. you cant look 20 when youre 40.
