b fold the truth

Elite Strongman
Platinum
Wasn't a great day by any means but Karl and I worked on quite a bit of our weaknesses. We also tried a few new things (great to do this when you aren't going to have a great day anyway) and got the basics done.

Wow great video I watched the whole thing! That looks like so much fun I am loving the whiteboard too in the room that is awesome. One question: Do you guys ever wear belts when loading the stones because it does look pretty hard on your back. Damn I wish I had some stones that looks like some of the best functional strength

Karl got me the white board and we are looking to get another bigger one for him and everyone else to use. Such a great tool!

I wore a belt the first time I ever did stones (was in a contest) and the stone pinched the belt on my skin so bad that my belly was black for a month. A few guys wear a belt when they do stones but almost all of the top guys don't. It really isn't hard on your back and IS a natural motion believe it or not. It is a lot of abs, hamstrings, lats, biceps, and explosive power...very little lower back.

Stones can be made fairly easily and cheaply and it is some of the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That would be so sick to have some! I'm curious what is a comparison ie how heavy a stone can you usually load to say where Karl was doing them if you squat xxx?

Stones are totally non relative to any other event. Let's say I can squat upper 7's with a belt only and Karl can squat near 400lbs. My best stone load is a 447 by itself and a 431 as a 5th stone in a contest. I can do heavier, but it's the biggest I've seen in years. Karl's biggest stone load is a 285 as you see in the video, but we are loading to much different heights.

But there are quite a few people out there that are horrible squatters yet AMAZING at the stones...

this is one of the best runs of on the atlas stones Iv ever seen!

shame he retired :(

look at the differance in phsyiques too...
