Why aminos?
From my understanding (which may be twisted, sick and way off-base):
Too much protein can be hard on the digestive track.
Our liver and kidneys break solid proteins into their core contents, amino acids.
So the theory is that taking amino's is a way to add more protein to a diet without adding more stress to the digestive track.
