Amazing feat. My partner dipped 180 lbs for 4 reps!

Wait a minute? Is this an optical illusion?

This guy doesn't look like he has 4 plates on his belt. That looks like a 100lbs weight.

4 plates hang dead between your legs... and they push your legs out like a frog. This guy's legs aren't pushed out far enough for 4 plates. They also clang and shift. This seems to be one solid piece.

Am I seeing this wrong?
 
It was 4 plates. Each one tightly against another. I reduced the video quality so it fits 1 megabyte limit, that's why its hard to distinguish the plates. There are no 100 lb plates in that gym.

I can do about +90 for 4 on parallel dips, but on that V-bar setup I almost popped my shoulders out with 2 plates. He seems to be doing it with no trouble though.

Good form on the dips but i noticed a few things.

Speed going down was pretty quick and so gotta watch out at the bottom with that much weight.

Last attempted rep was good, but someone shoulda been behind him to support him as he went down, i've been pinned by 135 before going down, couldnt find my footing and almost tore a pec.

But real real good job on the 180, now im inspired to maybe try one tommorrow, havent done more than 135 x 5 though so i doubt it.

damn strong, keep it up
 
Total was 365 pounds. I think he can can also do +205 lbs for 1 rep.
