are you taking carbs postworkout?
and do you drink booze at all?
The Nature Boy said:I was wondering what post workout carbs to do ketosis.
and I was wondering what alcohol does to ketosis as well.

Here I thought you were trying to help...sould of known.
Post workout carbs from what I hear doesn't effect ketosis if you keep it in the right range....they just replenish. I would say save the drinking for your carb-up day.

trying to help? I'm just asking questions big head.
What is the right range for carbs post workout?
flexygrl said:Hi,
I'm new here. I was thinking of starting CKD. I did a search on it, but I'm still confused. Does it work well for a women or is it mostly for men. On the carb up days, what do you eat. Is it strictly carbs only. How can I find out how many carbs are in things like veggies. Obviously, I'm very confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.![]()
HANSEL said:On a real CKD you do not take in post workout carbs! Jesus.
flexygrl said:Hey PoyeBoy,
Thanks for the info and the carb sheet!!!
Oh and here's a picture of my "boobies" for you! Enjoy.

Thanks for the infor everyone! It is really appreciated. But, one question was left un-answered. What do you eat on the carb up days? I am planning on posting to the womens board soon. Thanks again.
HANSEL said:There is a ratio for the amount of carbs to eat on CKD.
Did anyone doing a CKD actually read the manual ?

beastboy said:See if I can get some more info from you fellas......
On CKD do you follow the recommeded workouts or use your typical W/O. I'd like to stick to my one body part/day split.
Depletion workout: Is it really necessary to get results?
Post workout carbs: I am still seeing conflicting info from various sites....I'm thinking about waiting till I am in ketosis first than try PW carbs and see if it kicks me out.
gymtime said:
I didn't know they recommend workouts as well. Can you tell us what they recommend? When I was on the Adkins, I just did my regular workout. Seemed to work just fine.
As for post workout carbs, unless I'm mistaken (highly doubtful), they spike your insulin just like any other carb. The reason for post workout carbs is because that's when your body is most able to utilize them, but the insulin spike remains.
beastboy said:
They recommend a 2 day split following your carb up day...upper/lower so you have glycogen for your workout...then a depletion on carb day.
Yeah, I was thinking of the spike controlling the catabolic effect.

Ketostix...piss on them. I saw something on Ketostix, but I didn't consider it important. lol. I wasn't aware you pissed on them either.
Other things are they way you fell...breath... Well I feel like crap, so maybe that's a good thing. I can't wait until carb up day.

See. This is where I went wrong as well. I knew about the pissing. But I thought it was Cheetosstix. So I pissed on a cheeto and all that happened was the cheeto got soggy and I got peeps on my hand and the toilet seat. Come to think of it, that's not unusual anyway.
Anywho.....the cheeto didn't turn purple and I ate 4 Hostess Cupcakes.

Drop 7 lbs and carb back up 2lbs = net 5 lbs loss.
Actually, you should try it. This is the easiest diet I've ever done in my life. The cashews have make all the difference in the world. Between the eggs, cashews & oils my fat is around 100gms/day. The only rough part is going from 4pm to 7:30pm and working out before eating. Other than it's truly a breeze. I'm 236 lbs and I could do this for months.
beastboy said:I've been under my calories everyday this week...I really haven't had an appetite....wonder how this will affect me.

well if you're under your maintenence caloric intake... you'll lose even more wieght. problem is you'll be losing muscle too.

too bad I cant visit steroidology..... that website name won't fly here. it's a stupid name if you ask me.

I forgot, are you doing a one day or 2 day or 36 hour re-feed. I'm curious to see how much weight you'll gain back. if it's 3 pounds I'd consider that a success.

I know this was asked earlier in the thread, but i'm not sure if it was answered. Is the depletion workout critical?
I started a modifyed keto diet wed. and am well into ketosis this am. They have always worked really well for me for fast wt.loss. I don't do a carb up day. I do more of a carb cycling thing. I have found that I can still eat a fair amt. of carbs and still lose wt and stay in ketosis.flexygrl said:Hi,
