I totally see your side of it heather. Obviously men are going to lean more towards having compassion for the man in the story since that is who they can sympathize with the easiest. And vice versa women and the woman in the story.
Dude was weird for not telling the girl, sure. And the girl was just weird. The story was written to highlight the girl's oddities and the reader is meant to assume the guy smelled something was up (her character was not what it should be) and hence his decision to not be fully open with her.

heather.....I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on one point........women do this shit left and right. Not only do they get money then from the father......they also get more money from the state. Are the majority of men prick fucks?..........you bet. But women are quickly catching up. And I know first hand of women who have done this "multiple"....read "multiple" times. Real or not the story is depressingly accurate in terms of the woman's behavior. I'm not high fiving anybody either......it's depressing that things have gotten like this between men and women........and no it ain't all womens fault.

I'll agree with you though that the majority of women "start out" wanting a deep, enduring connection with a man.........but like men, they quickly become jaded in this world.

I agree with everyone..... in one way or another. It was a funny story.
If I ever ended up pregnant by a man who didn't want to be a father, I wouldn't want anything from him.... except, maybe GONEness. I would want him out of my life and not slowing me down. It would be easier to get a dead beat dad out of the picture, early, than making my child deal with having a dead-beat dad. I wouldn't want child support. It gives too many "rights" to dead beat dads(like visitation). I am from a good, solid, strong family. My child would be fine. Trapping a man is bad for the child. Trapped men make bad husbands. Men should want children and a wife if he's gonna have them. If a man does not want these things, then leave him the fuck alone. It's not for everybody and it's harsh for women to manipulate away the rest of a man's life.

Here is the quote in the paragraph which is so obviously fake:

No woman is going to say, "you are trapped, and you know it." That is such obvious bad dialogue. That would never come out of a woman's mouth in that situation.
