6% BF without Cardio?

Ok, my current workout plan has been to hit cardio hard for about 30 minutes then lift for the last hour. I do this 5x a week. I'm starting to look real good and I like the results, but someone told me that I was taking nutrients away from my weight lifting by doing it in this order.

When I started I had about 22% BF and now I am close to the 10-12% range. I had it tested electronically but I need to get back in and have the skin clamp done so I know exactly how much I have.

But anyway my question is:

Can you get a 6% Body Fat without doing cardio? I was under the assumption you HAD to do cardio to keep your BF at a 10 or below. Am I wrong?

Please advise.

if your diet is dialed in, you can reach any bf without cardio... personally, id lift and then do cardio after lifting. do whatever works for you, as youve already come a long way!

I know a lot of puny dudes that are close to 6%. But they dont touch weights and they dont eat. They look like shit. It all depends on what you eat, like the above stated, and what your workout routine looks like. I dont know any bodybuilder's who have physiques of 6% without cardio.

The cardio should always be done after free weights and if you take the fat off slowly you will get better end results.

i do 0 cardio and was at 7% three weeks ago. i'm not huge (not my goal) but i have been gaining a lot of weight without adding any fat, i've actually been adding weight and losing bf. good diet is the key.

if i don't do cardio--and this is with a clean diet, i cannot get under 12%---but i have been an extreme cardio guy (sponsored runner....about 100 years ago) so my guess is i end-up slowing my metabolism down as a survival response.....

...i mention clean diet but it may also be that i end-up eating too late or too soon before bed. but that is what they make baggy clothes for anyway.

in any event, cardio is good and the amount that improves health is minimal and will not hurt growth if done correctly.

+1

You want to do the cardio AFTER the weights so that you have already burned up all your glycogen (stored carbs) during the weight lifting. This leaves only fat to be burned during the cardio.

I am going to actually focus on cardio primarily for the next couple months and keep my lifting at a minimum.I am getting tired and burnt out.My sleeping habits are becoming shit and I am slipping.I think doing cardio primarily will just add a change up of things for me.

I have done up to 2 hours a day of cardio in the past to experiment and see were it would take my bf levels and all it did was flatten me out and make me look skinny. The best results I have ever gotten was doing cardio at 45 min a day max every other day or every 2-3 days random and eating low carb 4-5 days a week then a clean carb up. This was the best I have ever looked. Took in carbs pwo only 5 days a week then the rest of the carbs would come from veggies in the form of fiber.
