24k's *getting ready for 2006* log

Miss24k is doing her happy dance today :elephant: why do you ask :) because I reached a new weight that I've never done before on incline db press, I was able to get 2 sets with 40lbs for 5 reps each, I struggle with the 2nd set though... woohoo me!!! I'm so happy with myself lol can't you tell.

When I was done this big guy stood in front of me and clapped he was like damn I'm impressed. ;) That's just what I needed today, oh and some woman told me she told her trainer she wanted an ass like mine, cause she says I have a perfect ass :lmao:



Back, Chest, Shoulders
A1) 6 sets of 5 pullups
A2) 6 sets of 5 Incline DB press (35lbs for 4 sets, 40lbs for 2 sets)
B1) 3 sets of 10 BB bent-over rows (45lbs)
B2) 3 sets of 10 DB pullovers (20lbs)
3 sets of 12 DB Flyes (15 lbs)
C1) 3 sets of 10 Front lat. raises on ball (7.5lbs)
C2) 3 sets of 10 side lat. raises on ball (7.5lbs)

A1 & A2, B1 & B2, and C1 & C2 are supersetted.

Cardio has been 5 times a week, 30 inutes in the morning. Workouts have been as previously posted. Diet is beyond straight. ;)

Ok so meeting with the trainer went well, weight is down to 115lbs, bodyfat down to 21%.

Cardio will be 5 times a week, 30 minutes a day in the am. Weight training is going to be interesting, the new program is based on tempo training, very interesting, and I'm sure I will be cussing him in the gym lol, very different something I haven't done before.

Diet is going to be a cycling of carbs, this will be interesting to me also because I've never cycled my carbs before. I like how the diet looks, the way it will work is Day 1, 2, and 3 then repeat. Day 1 is high, Day 2 is medium, Day 3 is low.

Also the show I was going to do in April has been cancelled, so now the 1st show will be May 6th, which also gives me more time to get ready, I have 14 weeks left.
 
Cannot wait to follow your progress with this new type of workout. And I'm very interested to see how your carb cycling goes.

I'm going to start experimenting with this once I get more settled. Good luck hun! :)
 
Miss24K, I am very interested in hearing about your carb cycling. I have been reading a LOT about this lately, and it really seems like the way to go. I assume that you are also calorie cycling as you carb cycle, but let us know if you aren't. :)

Sorry IP, I did answer your question but it was the day EF was acting up, I guess it never got posted. Anyway I was saying that for my cardio, I do not do HIIT everyday, I basicly do whatever I feel like doing that day, sometimes HIIT sometimes steady state.

I actually am loving the carb cycle, because I never feel depleted or run down, no cravings at all, I'm focused!!!! lol

I just received my goodies from the AF store, and I have to say I'm super happy about that, since customs didn't hold on to those babies for a week this time. lol

So this morning I began using YES on my triceps, thighs and booty.

I now know how to drive Harvey (my cat) crazy, apply YES and walk around the house. He went absolutely nuts rolling around on the floor, lol silly cat.

And how to drive 24k crazy, hmm apply YES walk around the warm house for a few minutes, then walk outside(-20C) for a few minutes, then get back inside where it's warm, oh my goodness the tingling feeling in my legs and bum was crazy. lol

I was sweating like a piglet this morning, more than usual. Oh and my body is still warm, especially triceps, bum, and thighs.

Can you give some details on your carb cycle? What are the ranges you are using, and do they coincide with your exercise days (I'm assuming yes, but just checking). :) Thanks, and get to posting! :lmao:

Training and diet are ok, I'm starving and I want a f*ing cookie, scratch that I want the whole bag.

Been having a rough couple a days, I wish I were rich, so I could these a few people to kiss my ass!

Oh and yesterday was an interesting day to say the least, in the day I was aggressive by the time it was gym time I was in the gym crying like some stole my puppy, I couldn't believe it, I couldn't even tell you why. I swear people must of thought I was retarded hell I think I was. Then I somehow anaged to finish the workout, got home was preparing meals for today and was pissed again.


What else hmmmm oh these knuckleheads in the building shut the water off and I have to friggin pee!!!!!

Since I Pee (i know TMI) every 10 - 15 minutes here , I would die! A water line burst outside my office once from the cold and the city turned off the water ... when I called to tell my office I was running later (traffic from the water line), lady tells me "You better go to the bathroom b4 you get here, water's off..." I turned my ass around and said "call me when it's back on ... "

SEE another beautiful lady have a rough couple of days ... we're making a list here ...

I went through that last year. I would get pissy and yelling and then I would get to the gym and I would feel like crying for some stupid reason why....

I was beginning to think you didn't love me anymore S :bawling:

So went to see Mr. Trainer yesterday, it was pretty funny I was there at 6pm, waiting and waiting, getting pissy, cause he wasn't there and I'm like where the F is this dude???

So by 6:30pm I was ok this is enough what the hell, I go to the front and have him paged the this gym he is at is way too big to go look for him I would never find him,so anyway he comes up front and he looks at me and then looks at his watch, I go Yes you're late, with lots of attitude to say the least, he starts laughing and is like yea I'm 3 minutes late, damn your impatient, he's laughing, I like what wasn't our appointment at 6pm, he goes hmmm no it was at 6:30pm lol oops, I said well it's your fault anyway, it's that damn low carb day! :lmao:

Anyway meeting went well, only thing that changed was the training, I said no change to diet, he said hmmm no I can't and won't take anymore away from you, (music to my ears), now he'll just have to make the training get you down.

Training is now basicly a circuit training, which goes something like this: 2 exercises supersetted, with a 60 sec plyo, then a 60 sec break, repeat.

Cardio is 30 minutes empty stomach (am) 5 times a day, and I can bring it up to 45 minutes.

So he checked my weight and bodyfat, weight is 113lbs, bodyfat is 20%, so I was like ok hold on a second, I just don't understand this, how in the hell is my bodyfat at 20%, I don't think I look that high, my veins are starting to pop again, when I'm trainging, I can see abs, and not only in the am on an empty stomach :lmao: . The another I practiced walking and posing with a friend who says her bf% is in the teens, and she was like oh damn when I put those heels on, she was like your legs are insane, I can't imagine how they'll look in 10 weeks. If my bf is that high then it means I gained NO muscle since last year, and well I see more. Basicly I went off and wanted some explanation lol.

Anyway he was very good and explaining to me that he doesn't care what the % is and that he is the only 1 who will know what it is when I'm on stage, and that it's just a data point for him and he's not expecting a specific number, just make sure it's always dropping and that I'm looking good seeing changes in my body. He said he has girls that compete at 15% and others that compete at 5%, but when you have them stand next to each other, there's no big difference in how lean they look.

Although I know not to let a number define me, it can get frustrating when you're competing in 10 weeks to hear it's so high, I'm glad we had this little talk, cause he put my concerns at ease, and I'm going to be F*CKING HAWT, IN 10 WEEKS ;) LOL

He's right though -- bf is still just an inaccurately measurable ratio and at teh end of the day, its not really an absolute and it is all about how you wear it. 15% looks like shit on me and I had to drop to 7-8% to get abs. And still not real impressed. BF is good for guidance and relative changes if you are measuring the same way.

Hi Miss24K! I was reading your log and looking at your pictures. You look really good!! I read your concerns about bf%, so by analyzing the pics bf is mostly in your torax, maybe it is a matter of tightening the diet or to revamp your wokout... ask your trainer what are his plans to help you thin your skin in that area... or what his plans are for the diet at 10 weeks to the competition date.

It is true that for some girls BF% doesn't make too much different at comparisons in person. But at stage, there will be girls who will be tighter and that difference judges do notice and can be a reason for setting places.

I can tell that you've done great job with your leg workout! They look amazing!

Keep up the hard training!

Second, I've been having alot of pain in y left knee and my shins from sprinting, so I spoke with my trainer the other day and he referred me to someone to get some A.R.T. treatment for it. I went yesterday, and the therapist said no more sprinting :bawling: if you know me you know I love this. Anyway basicly the only form of cardio I can do at the moment is on the Elliptical, which is fine for the morning cardio sessions, but my current weight training involves supersets and a 1 minute sprint at the end :worried:. Spoke with him and the trainer about this, and I can try jumping rope for this minute, so we'll see.

So as I said I had the treatment last night, and F*CK it hurts!!!!! This morning I woke to do my cardio and well that just wasn't happening, I was limping all over the house, my BF was like what are you crazy, you aren't going to the gym this morning, take the break from the cardio. So I did. The therapist told me it will probably be very painful for the next few days, and that I probably will be thinking of him, and wanting to hurt him, lol, but he assured me that it will get better. Well he was right about 1 thing, I want to hurt him today!!!!! lol

Just so you'll know diet is straight.

I read about your first problem. I've considered the 'ol scrub-a-dub! I can imagine it would sometimes feel uncomfortable.

Shin splints? I can't run because of them (that and I don't really have the stamina for long distance). I love to sprint though - that's what the problem was - sprinting? So pretty much deep tissue therapy. Hmmmm, sorry to hear you're in such pain. Does hot/cold therapy or stretching help?

Good job on diet Miss24! I am so sorry to hear about your shin splints - that SUCKS! Hope they heal for you quickly and you can get right back sprints again! ;)
 
WOW...I'm so sorry about your shin splints. I can't believe it. Ice those things after every workout and warm them up WELL before you try jump roping. I'm a little concerned about that, too, but I hope it works out for you.

Second, I've been having alot of pain in y left knee and my shins from sprinting, so I spoke with my trainer the other day and he referred me to someone to get some A.R.T. treatment for it. I went yesterday, and the therapist said no more sprinting :bawling: if you know me you know I love this. Anyway basicly the only form of cardio I can do at the moment is on the Elliptical, which is fine for the morning cardio sessions, but my current weight training involves supersets and a 1 minute sprint at the end :worried:. Spoke with him and the trainer about this, and I can try jumping rope for this minute, so we'll see.

So as I said I had the treatment last night, and F*CK it hurts!!!!! This morning I woke to do my cardio and well that just wasn't happening, I was limping all over the house, my BF was like what are you crazy, you aren't going to the gym this morning, take the break from the cardio. So I did. The therapist told me it will probably be very painful for the next few days, and that I probably will be thinking of him, and wanting to hurt him, lol, but he assured me that it will get better. Well he was right about 1 thing, I want to hurt him today!!!!! lol

Just so you'll know diet is straight.
How R U doing? I used to get these all the time they'll get better before you know it!

Well after the therapy my knee was killing me pretty bad, I haven't been sprinting or doing anything that affects my knee or shins. Treil, I've had shin splints before also, but it never bothered my knee. It feels much better today though. ;)

Nels, well I'm not jumping rope just yet, this will be my replacement for the sprints I do in between sets, but not yet, I may not get to sprint for awhile. He gave me some stretching exercises to do and told me to ice them and heat them lots, so I basicly smell like a medicine cabinet everyday in the gym lol.

With the treatment he did, he had warned me that the knee would hurt alot more after for a few days, but then it should feel better, and it does actually feel abit better than before, not 100%, but better, so at least it's working :)

Just a note ladies my pants are finally loose.... WOOHOO!!!! :elephant: today is a wonderful day :)

So I am not 8 weeks away from my show, and I spoke with my sister inlaw in Boston, and I may actually do a show with her in her area, 2 weeks early, so that would be 6 weeks, I'm not 100% sure yet on that, we'll see where I'm at. Just wanted to give alittle update on my plans ;)

Yes she does, actually she's the one who pushed me to compete last year, and I did, and my other sister inlaw saw me compete and I motivated her to compete this year, so we'll all be doing the show in May, it's the 3 boys that are brothers, don't they know how to pick their women lol.
 
Oh geez... I took some pics the another day, and I keep forgetting to post them up when I get home.

I have so many things on my minds its so not funny, why is it that everytime I turn around some new problem slaps me in my damn face. Nothing ever seems to just go smoothly for me, and I just have 1 month where everything is perfect or close to it. Really I'm not that "oh poor me" kind of person, so I hope it doesn't come off like that. But I've been through insane amounts of sh*t in my 28 years, most people would have gone insane by now. I can honestly say I'm a good person, and always think about how I would feel if someone did that to me, before doing something. So I don't understand why sh*t just can't go right for me, it's like I'm always being tested, and it makes me wonder if god is trying to find my breaking point.

Sorry for the ramble, this is how I feel today, so I needed to put it out there, so it's not in me, if that makes sense.

Basicly what happened is that my boss sold his company, new owners came in and took over, boss told me not to worry I still have a job, but deep now I have a funny vibe about this, anyway yesterday, our other accountant came in to get something, and asked me question that I didn't know anything about, but made me question if I had a job soon, he was like oh sh*t, cause he didn't realize I didn't know what he was talking about, anyhow I went into my boss's office and asked him what was going on, and in a nutshell he said I was going to tell you, but next friday is your last day.

Now I've worked here for 3 damn years, I understand business is business, but I'm really pissed that they didn't have enough respect for me to talk to me like a human being, I had to figure it out on my own. ahhhhhh whatever!!!!!

Hopefully it's a blessing in disguise!

Oh another note, went to see therapist the another day, and he's happy, knee ans shins are much better, he wants me to try the sprints on friday, but if it hurts I'm to stop right away, but the sprints are to be done in the gym (they have this soft surface on the floor), NO MORE threadmill sprints!!! Funny thing my glute has been alittle tight, and he was like yes that can happen sometimes, when you release 1 muscle another may act up, so he had to release that 1 too. You girls are going to get a laugh out of this, he had to pull my shorts down to get to the glute, cause they couldn't be pulled up, and guess what I'm wearing underneath this little itty bitty beige g-string, :lmao:

Oh, Miss24k, I am so sorry to hear about your job. I don't understand business sometimes - yes, business is business but it is full of PEOPLE and we should treat eachother the way we personally want to be treated - with respect. Damn, I'm mad :evil:

Your road has been bumpy, but just think about it, you have GREAT shock absorbers to smooth out the ride! You're still here and smiling :)

Sorry to hear about your job. Are they required to give you severence? Can you get unemployment? One bright side.....more time to train!

Cali, actually they were slick about it, they changed company names I was on the payroll for a few weeks, so techinally they don't have to give me a severance. But I do get unemployment insurance so I'll be fine, I'm not worried financial, just a mess up situation. But whatever and yes more time to train and more time to rest, we all know how important the rest is for our bodies ;)
