1. Yes, a lot of westsiders will work biceps by doing 3 sets of hammer curls once a week. I'll usually throw them in after lat work -- I don't think it really matters what day you do them, just keep it around once a week.
2. When you're first starting, I say do an ME exercise for two weeks at a time. Basically you can set a PR one week and break it the next when you're starting just because of corrections you can make by learning the correct form and just getting a feel for an exercise. After you've gone through all the ME exercises a few times, then start rotating it every week.
