1st time Oxandrolone user

Hello, let me introduce myself.. 55 years old..175 5'8" AND i have a degenerative muscle disease.. LGMD2i basically Muscular Dystrophy, my DR precsribed me OXandrolone 20mg daily 12 weeks to see if we cant kick some muscle rebuilding into gear..The DR's said i would be dead at 41..im 55 this year and i eat pretty clean, good supplements all in liquid form : Multi and minerals, selenium, l-arginine, l-glutamine, omegas, vit e,d3, DHEA. so now my question...at that dosage im looking to regain some strength this shitty disease has ripped me off of...im still walking with a cane or stick..i fight like anybody to do every day and i refuse to give up! MY dr is cool and works with me an things i research to try..He like my Fight :) im on day 2 of ox, i drink lots of water 60-80oz daily, 2 cups of coffee..60-80gm protein daily..and work out best i can.. ANYBODY have any advice?

12 weeks of Oxandrolone (Anavar) seems like a long time, even if it is at a lower dose because of the impact on liver toxicity. You need to protect yourself while on Oxandrolone, and I personally wouldn't go beyond 8 weeks. I would add some N2guard for liver and overall health.

Are you on TRT? If not, At your age, I am surprised the doctor did not put you on that which will probably at least have to happen after stopping Oxandrolone because it will shutdown your natural test production.
 
my T levels and free t levels he said were remarkably higher than he expected, i attribute that to l-arginine and dhea, and yes i started liver support 2 weeks prior to starting and i actually think ill stop at 6-8 weeks, i do my liver support 2 hrs after my VAR

you can do 6 on and 4 off then go back on

I have a lot of fight left in me...and im just getting started :) success to me is getting up one more time than you've been knocked down! i just might need some more guidence on when to use the Test stack and liquid aromitase and i know the clomid liquid the day after my cycle ends...

I responded to your PM, but basically you will start everything at the same time once your cycle ends
 
thats just the thing..we are both venturing into new territory on this one...all i know for sure is: "If I do NOTHING....that will be my result" and if you AIM at NOTHING..you'll hit it every time...
 
With ANAVAR its rather mild and I think best results are seen with 10-12 weeks cycles.
MOST any other oral AAS I would say 4-6 weeks MAX.
 
What about increasing your Protein intake a bit? 60-80 g of protein daily? Thats nothing! Thats what i eat for breakfast? Or maybe I read that wrong?60-80g of protein per day is insane my brother, especially since your goal is to gain muscle.

i read in a couple places that 1/2 gram per pound of body weight...

thats probably just to maintain..Ill try bumping that as well..120 grams good start?
 
I would be aiming for a min of 1 gram protein per lb of body weight minimum. If your on cycle your body can use more.

My man 0.5 gram of protein per lbs of body weight, is weight too little for your goals, i always shoot for 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per pound body weight, especially when on cycle, im currently doing an Anavar/Clen/Proviron cycle and my protein intake hasnt been less than 330 grams on my lowest day, i try to average 360-380 x day, i weight 186 lbs

In your case, i would try to shoot for at least 1.5 per pound, NUTRITION brother is the most important thing! You could be doing all the steroids and drugs in the world you want but if you're not eating properly, you might as well be spending your money on something else without the side effects of steroids. Anyway try to shoot for 1.5g of protein per pound!

okay first day breakfast of 59gms ish protein (included a egg protein shake of 22 gms) 3 hardboiled eggs, 2 heaping tblsp cottage cheese piece of boneleess skinless chkn bout 8oz, egg protein shake with raspberries coconut oil,almond milk, water. That a decent start?

It is!! I got a killer breakfast and before bed meal that i always stick to and wouldnt change it for anything! I'll give you my secret recipe brother! Here it goes:

1 cup Fage 0% greek yogurt = 130 cal 23g protein 0 fat
1/2 cup 0% cottage cheese = 80 calories 13g protein 0 fat
2 scoops of Dymatize Elite 100 = 212 cal 48g protein 0 fat
1 tb spoon peanut butter = 95 cal 4g protein 8g fat
1 serving of Kashi Go Lean Cereal = 160 cal 13g protein 1g fat

For a Superb grand total of
677 cal
Only 9g of Fat
And a whooping 101g of protein!!!

The very best part of this before bed is that plain greek yogurt is made mostly with Casein Protein and as you may know its a slow digesting type of protein which is great before bed to feed the body and muscles for the 8 hours of sleep.

sweet bro! thx..i also have a tub of casien protein power from nuta bio. between all this and the VAR (maybe something different this winter for my 2nd cycle)..??? ..i thinking WE can kick this muscular dystrophy's ass right outta town... let me work through this first ever cycle first..then i can start planning for cycle 2 :) I would LOVE to get back in the GYM again..been 25 something years.. (i got so down and weak few years ago was at 245 lbs shitty diet,38" waist).. they wanted to put me in a wheelchair I said no frikin way!.that kinda lit the fire under my butt to beat this thing! NOW ive held at 170ish and 32" waist for years! Heck all i have to do is build more good muscle than bad muscle..it might not correct my DNA defect..but that doesnt mean we cant overcome the effects..MOTIVATION DEDICATION..i have both :)

Very nice bro! I have a nice protein pancake recipe that is a weekend staple of mine that I absolutely love!
 
Grab an app called my fitness pal for your smart phone if you have one. It has a large database of foods. It even has a barcode scanner feature making things real fast. Very easy to track your everything. Takes me about 10 minutes collectively over the day!

1/2 cup oats
1 banana
3 egg whites

Blend into a batter and cook on low to medium heat. Will make 3-4 average sized pancakes. Top with sugar free syrup, greek yogurt, or peanut butter!

I think around 25% of your total intake can be fats with your 250 grams protein then make the rest carbs. Which probably puts your carbs around 300 if your consuming around 3200 calories which is where I would start at your weight on ox.

23 days into my first ever VAR cycle..noticing lots of little differences..being my genetic condition..thats promising! feeling great..with the exception..my KNEE had a fight with a falling piece of equipment at work..and in trying to get out of impact it got me and i twisted and tore something..this sucks..but what can you do...WILL Ibuprophen greatly affect my cycle?

You don't want to rely on ibuprofen or any painkiller bro. If it is serious enough to impact your training, it may be best to just PCT and take some time off, and recover until you can properly train again

If you can train fine with it, and it's only minor, start Ostarine at 25mg per day and run it straight through your PCT with the other PCT items you have. It does help considerably with minor injuries, joints, and inflammation. Pick some up at SARMS1.COM - The best Selective androgen receptor modulators

I have pushed through a lot of injuries..I hate taking pain killers..im stopping tonight..only been on them for 3 days and I can feel the difference in strength..so they are working against the var..im sure of it just ordered the Ostarine..read a lot of good stuff on it!

well was able to do my routine with the exception of the right quad..even could work my right calf with no pain..so other than that..no pain killers just iced and wrapped and push through it..cant wait for my OSt to get here..hope they ship fast...keeping extra on hand for next time..you guys are great for helpin this old dude out! much appreciated

injuries are part of the game but you don't want to make injuries become chronic.. sometimes a few days off of the gym is better

I wish it was an injury from the GYM..but it happened at work .a piece of electronic equipment fell of the shelf and had it out for my knee..didnt quite get out of the way..so i took the hit and pulled something or its soft tissue damage or both..
 
Okay PCT starts saturday!..all lined up...results on this first time Var cycle are encouraging...enough to give it a second try..with a more refined diet and training program...
 
Second week into PCT..feeling kinda crappy, achy hips, little worn down,sex drive is in the can...weird cause first week 1/2 felt almost better than i did on cycle..or at least as good..now not so much..hope its temporary..

just a quick update...PCT completed..2 weeks to normalize..and feeling pretty good, Just went for Blood Work today..so we shall see if anything is messed up..so there ya go..i figure i was able to keep about 50% of what i gained...weight stayed stable today at weigh in was 178 i was shooting for 173..but not bad being as i have been eating like a horse...But my body is using most everything it seems..

Ya, pinning isn't a big deal at all. It can actually go even smoother with a smaller needle. A 22g is fine to draw with, but I would actually suggest pinning with a 25g. It slows down the injection because the oil won't move through the needle as fast, but a slow injection is what you want and there will be minimal PIP to where you can barely even tell you injected at the site

Yes, it's entirely possible that you have a higher metabolic rate now, contributing to the appetite increase

my blood creatine level: .20mg/dl (normal .70-1.30)
Liver: AST=59 ALT 106
Estradiol level 38pg/ml (man should be 18-22?)
Progesterone:.23ng/dl
Total Test: 264 free test 6.1pg/dl

thats all i have so far
 
long time since my last post..all recovered and finally on TRT...im HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY..and on evo most of the time..but things are now going well finally :)
 
Just an update..been a long time away, i have 2 more cycles under my belt with a coach and a dietician...AMAZING..after the VAR only cycle in this thread...i researched and finally got hooked up...cycle after that was Test/EQ/Primo/var 12 weeks, then 14 weeks on cruise with Test/Var,results were reall prmising with my BMI now in the high teens..i have a way to go..but its a marathon..not a sprint, I was able to retain 80% of my strength gains...feel frikin FANTASTIC! now Currently on Deca/Test/Var using Deca as the base at 400mg/test 250mg Var 30Mg, sorry havent been on board for a while...ive been on a couple others and really not on the internet much...been buisy at work..trying to keep a wayward kid in line..crap like that...:)
