How much AM cardio to burn fat?

I've starting hitting the gym three mornings a week for cardio before work and was wondering if 30 min is enough to burn fat stores on an empty stomach. I still train heavy with weights 5 evenings a week and just want to shed about 15 pounds of fat for the summer. Would ading PM cardio pre or post workout make a big difference or is that too many calories burnes to maintain muscle mass?
 
the idea is that because you ate at lets say 7pm.. your body processed that food stored what it needed, and then converted the rest to fat stores..

so now it's been 8 hours.. the body has burned through lets say 25% of it's energy stores in the muscle.. glycogen

you awake, the body says.. no biggie, he'll eat soon.. but instead you start to do cardio.. low intensity, the body says.. hey, we need to save energy but need energy for this, and starts burning fats... as long as you don't exceed 60-65% intensity..

if you do, you will start using stored glycogen, which we don't want to do..

YES! Thank you. Would you have a an idea how I can calculate the 60-65% intensity? Not that I don't trust the cardio machines little chart but ...
