Food too much money!?

i dn't know where u shop, but most grocery stores carry bags of frozen chicken (3lb bags)for $7 u can split these up into a few meals. i buy canned, no salt added, french style green beans, store brand .50 a can. whole wheat bread is pretty cheap, eggs are cheap, and buy rice in the bag. i don't eat any read meat so that cuts cost (not b/c i don't want to, i'm just allergic to it). the most expensive thing in my diet is protein powder and that can be had cheap if you use the right place. if cost is bothering you, get down to the essentials for your food no need to get anything fancy.

You don't live in Canada because here a dozen of eggs is $2.59 and a loaf of bread is $3.00+ and that is only the beginning a quart of milk is $2.29 even if you buy the 4.5L bags of milk its still close to $6.00

Do you guys have Costco up there?

Costco is a bb'ers best friend.

my groceries run me around 200 a week, and i eat lots of eggs, lots of chicken, tuna, and around 2-3 lbs of red beef per week, and lots of brown rice in bags, and sweet potatoes... it is very easy to cut down on food cost and still getting what you need, for the longest time i was financially unable to eat like i wanted, i ate nothing but chicken breast brown rice and frozen vegies, cost me maybe 50 bucks a week

House, who's that guy in your Avi??

if you have a super walmart by you its worth the drive. (let me add i fucking hate walmart) but i go there because i did some comparative shipping a few weeks ago and went to the grocery store i normally go to, bought half the shit i would normally buy and went to walmart (yes i had a lot of time on my hands) and bought the other half and saved seriously 35 percent!

if you break down a meal, it really isn't that expensive if you shop smart. it's WAY cheaper than buying each meal out somewhere.

brown rice and chicken saves a LOTTA $, as comparison to dinner out with your girlfriend at some fancy restraunt twice a week.

hey bro i just got back from canada not too long ago, i was up there for 6 months. You're right! The food up there is expensive compared to the states. But some of the best beef I have ever eaten was when i was up there :chomp:

tell me how your next shopping trip goes...im thinking about switching over to costco... from normal stores.. like save on and superstore.

superstore would be alot cheaper than safeway i was at superstore today..they had 3 buggies lined up with the equal amount of foods and exactly the same thing in each buggie. labeling them save on superstore and safeway...
to price match

save on foods was ... 276.44
Safeway was... 345.89
Superstore was ... 180.02

thats a huge difference with the same amount of food..and exxactly the same shit in each buggie. massive difference
