I have this friend....

who I've known for 15 yrs. Her and I have had a lot of ups and downs as friends. She lives a lifestyle I'm not comfortable with so I would have to step back for months and sometimes years at a time from the friendship.
Well, 3 months ago, she was getting into trouble so I backed away and she got really angry with me. But we stopped talking.
Today, out the blue, she txt me to say she needs to talk to me.
I tell her fine. She shows up at my house with a HUGE bouquet of flower and a $100 gift card to one of my fav stores. She is always ALWAYS broke so I said "thank you, but I cannot accept this because I know you struggle with money and you don't need to be sorry with money"

She says "I have something I need to tell you, My Mom just won 2.3 million in the lottery and she gave me 200,000 grand"

I about hit the floor. She is taking all her friends to Mexico and wants me to go. I can't, so she is giving me $1000.

Life is CRAZY MAD!!!!
 
Oh and her Mom won 200 grand back in 1997. Lucky woman!

Well yes she would blow it quick, but her family put most of it into Investments for her and gave her 20 grand in cash to spend.
She's had the money for 2 months now and hasn't even bought a tv or laptop yet (both of which she doesn't have). She is not wise with money so I PRAY she doesn't blow it all. I won't take the 1000$ she wants to give me though. She took me out for an expensive dinner tonight and that was fine by me

She's been asking to speak to me since they won over 2 month ago and I kept saying no. Today just felt like I was ok with her again.

Bill, she is addicted to coke, so yeah was rough for her parents to give her the money. Most of it's trust but she got a huge chunk of cash. She's in CA so who knows. I actually don't get too involved in her life much anymore.
I won't go to Mexico with her (I can't), but told her we can go away at a later date. I don't want her money. I want her to keep it

I actually just renewed my passport for 10 yrs. I don't do drugs.

She doesn't drive asked me to take her to Walmart today to get pet food and litter, I took her before a client and when I got to the cash, she paid my bill. That was nice ;-)
I don't want her grand and would love to go to Mexico, but I have a 20 yr old dying cat I am responsible for.

Imagine in this day and age Americans have to pay for education. Tell your war mongering government to stop paying for war so they can educate their citizens.
The best University in North American where I live, cost 3 grand per semester to go to school.

I paid (in total) with on line, courses, seminars and tutors $23 grand for my education. I could not have got certified in Canada without it

I recall events differently...like if it wasn't for Canada during WWII, the US would be fucked. Also Canada entered the war before the US did and they held it down pretty well. Do some reading on what each country did during that war and you'll get a better understanding of what the Canadian forces have done to help the US. All this American arrogant and supposed "superiority" in war is just that, arrogance...Canada has had its fair share and can hold its own

i was just being a wise ass...but i did watch the history of wwii on the history channel the other day...i don't remember canada being mentioned much...the brits took a lot of credit for the german front side of things, but without pressure from the reds on the other side, that shit would have taken a lot longer to accomplish...and the pacific front? that was all us and the battle of midway pretty much changed the whole playing field, 5 japanese aircraft carriers sunk and that was pretty much the beginning of the end of the road for them...things went downhill real fast after that.
 
You see, here's the thing; We don't need an army the size of the US because we are not the most hated nation on the planet. We also don't go to war over bullshit. We are a peaceful nation and the army we do have, suits us pretty well.
Having said that.....with all the money spent on war and your army, you can feed, cloth, educate and give health care to every citizen.
But war is way cooler. I don't dislike American's I dislike their government. Like the government knowing 911 was about to happen and no one did shit.

1. With regards to American politics, you are Canadian, STFU.
2. Education is not mandated by the U.S. Constitution, but the Common Defense is (not that I agree with the war footing, as is)
3. If you don't understand, refer to item #1.
