My fiancé has been in love with these cars for years and is trying to talk me into getting one. Why the shit are they so expensive? Looking for some personal driving experiences with these before I even decide to test drive. Oh and fuck getting a brand new one which ranges from 105k-125k...I'll be looking at an 07ish with a few miles.

Good luck.

You'll hate your life if you get one that old. Everything is expensive as balls to fix, more so than other mercedes or luxury SUVs. Little minor shit will mean 3-4 g's everytime. They have problems after 70-80k miles.

My sis had the G55 AMG. Got it brand new and there always seemed to be something wrong with it

Don't do it. If you can't afford a newer one, get something else you can afford. At the end of the day you'll probably wish you bought a new one

I don't understand how a company can put such an outrageous stickerprice on a car and not have it still running like a champ even in the 6 digits. I do notice quite a bit of price change once they're nearing the 80k mi mark. Interesting, I'll have to read up on this some more. I don't think I'd get anything with over 35k mi

And tell your girl to stop watching the fuckin kardashians. My last gf was the same way about that car bc of that show

How dare you! She wouldn't be my fiancé if she watched that shit or had that materialistic mentality. She's always wanted a jeep wrangler too, I just think it's that style she's after. Fuck getting a wrangler though.

It's pretty common. I guess in one aspect they don't really expect you to drive a 100k+ car cross country or into the ground.

German cars that always seems to be the case. Amazing for the first 60k and then you have to start replacing everything. It just becomes a huge liability and makes you wonder why you didn't
Get a relatively new one

I think I'll be pushing the new 4runner, can't seem to beat the reviews and the price for that matter. Brother just bought a new one and really enjoyed driving it.

btw I told her I asked for opinions on here and copied/pasted your response to a text(she's working) and she responded "well there goes that idea!". Bro you may have just saved me a shit ton of money
