How long does a warrant for arrest last?

If I have a warrant out for something like failing to take care of a traffic ticket, how long will that continue to show up if I get pulled over in the future?

In Harris county, Houston, I had 3 unpaid tickets written by constables. The statute of limitations is 3 years. What they did is waited until I had those three and issued a warrant for the first. Three years later to the day, they issue a warrant for the second unpaid speeding ticket because the statute of limitations ran out of the first. They can kiss my ass, I am not going pay them. I never go back to Houston anyway, so doesn't matter.
