I briefly hit the topic of Met + creatine mix but really did dig too deep.
In a previous post, I said that a logical mix would be:
1)drink carbo fluid (25-50 grams of high glycemic carbs)
2)wait about 1/2 hour
3)take 500mg metformin with 5-10 grams of creatine and 20-30 grams of whey protein.
4)::: I would suggest this two times per day...if your bowels can tolerate it,
add another dose midday.
Some facts and considerations:
Metformin is a med which has two mechs of action...the first is that it lowers the
amount of sugar penetration through the gut wall and thus lower blood sugars. The
second, and the most important is that it sensitizes insulin receptors in order to
better utilize the bodies own endogenous receptors. Reasearch shows that diabetics
who were on insulin and who now take metformin need lower dosages of exogenous insulin.
This is because the insulin does a better job considering the more sensitive receptors.
We now know that insulin injection for the person who is healthy or diabetic has
severe consequences especially heart disease or the possibility of becoming a
diabetic through downregulation (permanent)and destruction of receptors by the healthy person.
So how does it play a role in getting big??????????????????????????
Well, consider what is happening here. We know that insulin is the most anabolic
hormone made by the body (more than test and gH) and if you can utilize it in a way
with out increasing the amount or destroying receptors...there would be a lot of
muscle building going on.
Drinking carbs before taking the met allows the carbs to enter without the met interfering, thus insulin
levels would spike. As they are spiking, met, creatine and protein are introduced to
the body. Insulin receptors are sensitized, there is more insulin in the blood stream,
there are aminos and creatine in the blood ready to get absorbed. The insulin, with the
help of sensitized recptors draw in more protein and creatine into the muscle than could
be done physiologically before...insulin being anabolic, now has the resources and energy to build.
I would not be surprised if a person gained 1-2 lbs per week (muscle mass)
AND KEPT IT AFTER COMING OFF.
Some other considerations...
1) insulin being anabolic, it can also store fat more easily, in such case pump up
the aerobics in order not to gaain fat weight, or get ripped... studies also
show that for some reason, people tend to lose body fat while on met.
2) although not known for it, met may cause low sugar levels but not actual hypoglycemia,
if you ever feel jittery, dizzy and ready to pass out, back off on the dose
and eat something.
3) I would not use this mix for more than 6-8 weeks. Playing around with insulin
receptors is still unpredictable, even though people having been using met
in Europe for more than 10 years.
4) Might be of use for those coming off AS to keep mass or keep building.
5) Met is not a class III drug.
If I'm out of line with this let me know, if anyone tries or tried this let me
know. Great White
