: : If you work out in the evening take the met in the am with breakfast. One with lunch then take the next met 1.5 hrs after you load a carb/pro drink immediately after your workout. That's when I would take the creatine dose for the day. The creatine may be similiar enough in form to glucose or sugar or glucose polymer to be inhibited by the metformin and that's why people are having trouble loading. I think that after it has been worn off by a meal would then be the time to take the creatine. Anarchy in the USA! The insulin sens lasts but the inhibition seems to get used up.
: As far I understand, metformin and creatine does make a good duo, contrary to Duchaine's opinion (MMK2, May issue). I'm taking 850mg of metformin shortly after lunch, when (supposedly) my blood sugar levels are higher. Maybe coincidence (or just psychological effect) but I'm feeling my workouts a little easier after that.
: Just fot the sake of curiosity: is Glucophage sold in U.S. OTC, or a prescription is needed ?

i have found that during racing season this stuff is not good to take! It acidifies your blood and it really made my legs burn when I was on it. I thought I just was out of shape, but when I went off it things returned to normal. Anarchy in the USA!
