Vince Wawryk
I don't know much about Vince except
that he's from Saskatoon SK, competes as a middleweight, and consistently
delivers striking and thoughtful poses - as these pictures serve to show.
I wish more competitors had Vince's posing confidence and command of the
stage.
Gary Proksch
Gary is a pulp-mill engineer from
the port city of Prince Rupert on BC's North Coast - a town that for all
its 15,000 inhabitants has a history of producing top-notch competitive
bodybuilders (it rains a lot...). In his first season Gary stormed BC middleweight
ranks in winning the 1995 Ironore Classic in Prince George and the Overall
at the 1995 BC's.
Chris Gallo
Chris is known for having one of
the biggest upper bodies in BC bodybuilding. No wonder - he's 6'7" and
weighs in the 295 lb range. Chris, who is one of the owners of the Gator's
Gyms in the Vancouver suburbs of Port Moody and Maple Ridge, won the Overall
at the 1996 Gator's Classic. The pictures above are from the 1994 Emerald
Cup.
Bernie Desaulniers
I've only seen this guy once - at
the 1992 Western Canada Championships in Kelowna BC, which had an impressive
roster of Manitobans, more of whom I'll eventually print up, scan, and
post here. A lightheavyweight (as I recall) Bernie has impressive lines
and size but had the bad luck to show up at one of the toughest Westerns
ever, placing only 3rd in his class.
