does it have to taste good for you? Or do you just slug it the fuck back and don't really give a shit. What are some of the things you have added to your shake and how did it effect the taste of your shake.
 
well, i love making shakes but i hate buying vanilla protein. mixing choco with peanut butter and blueberries with a little bit of olive oil and vanilla yogurt taste good. or strawberry whey loaded with all kinds of berries oats yogurt and PB. But i've seen your recipes for shakes needto and there far superior to mine.
 
Choco Mint whey protein with choco mint ice cream, ANPB, berries, oats, and some flax tastes amazing too!
 
I just drink the shit as fast as possible. No point in taking up a bunch of time mixing stuff with it. It all tastes like ass to me anyway. Throw some powder in a shaker, add water, down the hatch. Done.
 
The only way I have found so far I can drink unflavoured and unthickened whey is with milk and strawberry milkshake powder. Or with water and peanut butter but thats messy so I dont usually bother.
 
This is my pre and post workout shake. 1 liter of water, 40g Waxy Maize, 10g Peptopro(Hydrolyzed casein; highest quality and fastest acting complete protein available) or BCAA, 5g creatine mono or CEE, 15ml glycerol, a pinch of sea salt, splenda and crystal light to taste.

This is the best combo I have found for pre and post workout. The pumps from the glycerol and WMS are insane. Recovery is top notch too.

For my everyday use protein I like a blend. I get 40% whey iso/30% egg white/30% micellar casein. I buy this in bulk and unflavored. I add flavoring as I go to each shake.

The most important thing to me is the quality of product. I am a protein snob. I am loyal to my brands I do not really deviate. I have tried them all and I usually hold my tongue when some one recommends a low quality or inferior brand. *Cough* Anything made by ON *Cough*
 
Guys you should try Pure Karbolyn in stead of waxy maize great quick carbs, use unflavored with 3 scoops of aftershock berry... I don't care much about the taste I have been drinking awefull protien shakes for years LOL

My protein shake has to taste good, so when tired of it, I change it.
I add:
2 scoops of glutaminine.
2 tsps of Fruit of Life.
2 tsps of Choline choctail.
1 scoop of Opti-CLA
1 tsp organic flax seed oil.

It makes a thicker consistency, it gives me tons of energy and it's soooo good is like dessert.
 
Yea.. taste is kind o f big for me.
I an only handle basic water + protein so long before it makes me sick to think about, lol.
Right now my fav is:
1% milk
1 tbsp ANPB
1 Banana
1/2 tsp SF Vanilla Pudding Mix
Cinnamon
Coconut Extract
2 Scoops Vanilla Whey
Glutamine
BCAA

Tastes delicious.
 
I'm usually a stir and chug kinda guy myself.

Some people get really complicated or blend exotic protein shakes, but blending = extra air in your shake, which can mean different levels of bloat/gas/etc. for different people.
 
chocolate or vanilla whey, with 1 banana, 1 cup quaker oats, 1 heaping tablespoon natural peanut butter, 10grm creatine monohydrate, 10grms glutamine, 8oz water, and 8oz milk, crushed ice thats post workout shake.

before bed shake

vanilla whey, scoop natural pb, 1 cup cottage cheese, crushed ice, 8oz milk, 4oz water, and blueberries if i have on hand
 
My morning shake is now NPB, whey, blueberries, BCCA's, L-Glutamin, Psylium Husk, Flax Powder, Olive Oil, oats

Pwo - waxy, whey, bcaa, glute, oats, berries
