Xenadrine advice

I apologise for the long post, and I know there has been a lot of discussion on ECA stacks, but I can't seem to find the advice I'm looking for...

I have just started a Xenadrine course this week, currently doing 1 pill am, 1 pill pm. I did some cardio last night - 1 hour on the elliptical trainer - and noticed that my heart rate was SOARING at a level it normally takes me some effort to achieve, and I was hardly sweating! This seems pretty dangerous to me, as my heart was at 93% of max and rising. I have always been under the impression that it is an elevated heartrate that governs energy consumption, so should I be working at a lower level, keeping my heartrate at 85%? Or am I not getting a good workout if I am not feeling the burn?

Secondly, what's the low-down on drinking alcohol while on ECA? I enjoy my weekends with my mates, which normally revolves around the bars and clubs?

Lastly, the appetite supression of Xenedrine is starting to take effect. What's the best way to deal with this? Surely I NEED the calories/nutrition to feed my body for the abuse I'm putting it through in the gym... Should I eat regularly, as per normal?

For the record I am not getting any side-effects from Xenadrine as yet, and I'm eager to get into week 2 so I can up the dosage! The extra energy is awesome!

First off is your heart rate is SOARING I would back off on the dosage... the last thing you need is to drop dead of a heart attack - LOL!

Secondly, ALCOHOL IS EMPTY CALORIES... If drinking is more important than shedding some fat I suggest you drink, be merry and not worry about what you are doing in the gym as it is being "undone" on the weekends ANYWAY.

Finally no ECA stack or ANY OTHER supplement whether it is OTC or otherwise is a MAGIC BULLET. If you do not train properly, EAT WELL and rest enough your body will NOT RESPOND PERIOD. You can pump your body full of all kinds of "magic". If you do not do the hard work of proper diet (and this means what you DO eat, not only what you avoid) and training it won't mean DIDDLY DO!

Boarder Boy - I do not mean to sound harsh, just giving it to you straight. Anyone who knows me that I NEVER LIE and blowing air up someone's gym shorts just ain't my style. :)

I think you need to sit back and read, set your priorities (ie - what your goals are) and then ask questions so that you can find the best way FOR YOU to go about achieving these goals.

Thermos and alkiehol

I was on a thermogenic drug to help me lose weight, and I took a pill about 5-7 hrs before going out. I went to a club, had 3 drinks, and passed out. Not normal for me.

Time your Xenacrine/ECA so you take the last dose about 2 or 3pm. I find sleep restless if I take mine too much after 3pm. Also take it a few hours before working out so the effect wears off a little. EC takes away the 'rev limiter' on heart rate and you can easily hit your max and push yourself way way too hard. If you use an heart rate monitor when you exercise keep an eye on it and try to stay below 85% max HR. don't push yourself all out just find a good HR and stay there.

Alcohol is poison-sorry. It has no regular place in the diet of a competetive athlete or health-conscious bodybuilder/lifter. I could go into a whole website about why alcohol is bad, but this the simplest answer: would you pig out on donuts? Cause alcohol has more calories. Pluss alcohol is bad for your liver and donuts aren't. So if you won't eat donuts you really shouldn't have alcohol. It is probably fine to indulge in a drink (not binge night of partying and getting hammered) everyonce in a while. About once a month I drink a few glasses of wine. Alcohol works against your gains.

Part of the beauty of ECA is it's appetite suppression. In fact w/ECA stacks 25% of weight loss (while using using ECA) is due to the fat burning properties of ECA, and 75% of weight loss is attributed to appetite suppression. So you can see that it is supposed to suppress appetite. Calories in vs. calories out.

What side effects? :P

lol it's wierd for me, I didn't really notice any side effects or benefits, slept like a log and got just as hungry as always using hydroxycut. I think it helped me lose some fat and tone my arms a bit, but I can't be sure if that was me eating properly or hdc. And also my systolic rate dropped from high 130s to low 120s. Go figure. I wonder if xenadrine is any diff?

I definitely noticed heightened anxiety and poor sleep using Xenadrine. But a few times I took some right before working out and decided not to work out and on both ocassions I was able to take a nap!! Go figure!
