Working Out in the morning - Good or Bad?

Hi there,

I'm new to this board and would like to ask for some advice in regards to my training schedule.
Everyday, I wake up about 5am in the morn, and go to the gym at about 6am with an empty stomach. (Well, no really empty as I take L-Glutamine, Creatine & Deca-Plex about 45mins b4 I workout.)

What I wanna know is whether it is advisable to workout on an empty stomach? Will I be burning my muscles rather than building them? What should I eat/ take after my workout to replenish myself? (I'm avoiding taking protein powder at the moment.)

I love working out in the morning 'cos there is less distraction in the gym and also, overall I feel better throughout the whole day.

I'm relatively new to this and hope some of ya might be able to give me some advice.
Thx in advance guys. :)

from what i hear on the board lifting on an empty stomach isnt good but cardio is fine.
take protien before you workout and eat carbs after to get your energy back.

When you say, "working out," are you referring to cardio or weights? I would NEVER lift on an empty stomach. I would also never take creatine on an empty stomach unless I wanted gas and cramps.

I trained with a trainer for over a year at 6:30am...only slot he had open. I got up at 5, ate oats with eggwhites, and went back to bed. Got up at 6 AM ready to roll. This way I had time to digest, and energy for my lifts.

Thx guys, I guess I should have something in my stomach before I lift. I will do just that....

cheers,
Evisu
