Same goes for the Lippes Loop IUD! NO chemicals, no hormones, no metal, no pointy edges. Just a curved piece of plastic with the same efficacy rate as hormonal BC! And you can't even GET the damned thing anymore!

ANYTHING in your uterus basically turns the environment hostile. The rate of catching pregnant is equivalent to the pill, and if you DO catch preg. 85% of the time when they remove the IUD you spontaneously miscarry, anyway. It's a win/win. The problem with IUDs is that they cause virtually all women some increased bleeding and cramping. That's why they started adding hormones, to reduce those side effects. But the fact is, IUDs don't need hormones to be effective.

As for hormonal BC, horrible shit and most women have NO idea how much damage is being done to their mood, libido, body composition, not to mention stroke risk, I just typed a report about a woman in her 30s, zero stroke risk factors other than being on the pill, had a couple of small strokes, one on top of the other, now she's walking with a cane and you can mostly understand her when she speaks. If MEN had to be responsible for birth control I wonder what kind of side effects or dangers would be considered acceptable risks?

i like how its all turned around on the guy here. hate to burst some of your bubbles but I AM the only one who cooks in our house hold and i I DO , do about 80% of the household cleaning. i also work a 40 hr week and help out with our daughter. so to say i need to do more is pretty stupid. besides this wasnt a complaint from me about not having sex, my wife was asking about getting her hormones check by a doctor, but i said "hey you know what?" why not ask some women on the forum and see if they have had the same thing happen to them....then most of you jump my shit about do more cleaning, do more this ,do more that. that was not my ? in the begining here. so thank you to the select few that actually gave advice .

and as for the hate men comment....to me..it sounded like she hates men. my opinion, whether it be wrong or right ...its an opinion. if you dont like it ,sorry.

Actually the main thing that disturbs me about PT-141 is that the company has DROPPED studying it as a treatment for sexual dysfunction. There is an ENORMOUS market out there for something that would safely treat female libido issues. Why would the company not even continue to look at that? Look at all the money Viagra made for Pfizer! Why throw away such a potential cash cow? Now they're studying it as a treatment for hemorrhagic shock and reperfusion injury. What do you think would bring in more money? As my husband would call it, things that make you go hmmmm.

Because they realized it would never get passed by the wonderfull FDA! Come on this is a controlled release of drugs. This is government saying this drug is so powerfull the end result could be rape or molestation. Do you want that on your watch? If pot is so damn dangerous, than think about this is? I read an article that had the FDA basically saying they would never approve it for the above reasons. But you think what you want. If you get a chance you could look for it yourself.

i'm sorry you didn't find what you needed here. i don't have any kids so i don't know about that part. however with sex drive i agree with willow. self image is big. also stress can effect the levels of some hormones. but a doctor visit wouldn't be a bad idea

Considering I am the mother to one 25 year old son, stepmother to another 19 year old son, and I've been happily with my current husband, who is also my best friend, for 15 years, I think it's a pretty safe bet I don't hate men.

Encourage your wife to see an endocrinologist. Female libido problems are in no way comparable to ED, and generally too complicated to diagnose long distance, much less second hand and long distance.

I have looked into its side effects and besides nausea and vomiting it potentially impacts blood pressure. I'm wondering if the combination of hormonal birth control plus PT-141 can cause unpredictable cardiovascular effects, perhaps there are different side effects depending on what synthetic hormones are out there. That would explain why the drug is being geared toward hospital scenarios.

Believe me, when it comes to hating and distrusting the FDA I'm right there, but occasionally they have their uses. BTW, I'd be interested in seeing the article you reference.

And don't blame the FDA for marijuana. If they had that sort of power why don't they remove cigarettes from the shelves?
