one thing that will help you is to learn what kind of carbs are o.k. when dieting, for example: brown rice, whole wheat pasta and whole wheat bread, yams, oatmeal, fiborous carbs like veggies, non refined sugars like fruit. The truth is that it is very easy to get lean without the no carb b.s. diets that are so hard to stick with. Use a split like the 40/30/30 or even 50/30/20 and just make sure that 30% are "good" carbs.
