Wish me luck here guys

This is tough bor. I am really sorry for you and your friend. I hope everything works out for the best.

I have never had a dog, and I know I missed out totally, cause now they are even having dogs bond with inmates in order to teach the inmates... -like you can teach this, I guess, train would be a better word or condition- Anyway, so much love, empathy, and just awesome vibes come from having a good dog. Studies show having a pet significantly increases quality, and if I remember right, longevity as well. I feel for ya Jnev. Damn dude, I hope he'll be allright. Good luck my friend.

have the vet check your dog for Lime exposure bro

same thing happened to my little boston terrier, limping, looking sick, not eating, EVERYTHING you described.

Have them test for lime and get him on anti-biotics right away and hopefully he'll be alright

get a second opinion if needed

trust me

I'm prayin for you bro

lol

What kind is that?

Pekingese... my dog was sick when i first got him, he was 3 weeks old, and had some kind of skin disease and some other illness, spent close to a g after all said and done, the vets know what they are doing bro... g luck

That sucks bro....I have a 7 year old Boxer and his hind leg has been hurting him for awhile....doc said it is either hip dysplasia or arthritis...and that big dogs like him(he's 100lbs) have too much weight to be carried around on small hips so they eventually wear out.

I put him on the glucosamine chondroitin supplements and it seemed to help...still favors the leg alittle bit but doesnt seem to be in pain. I've had him since he was a baby and I will be devastated when/if I ever have to put him down....i dont know if I could even do it.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I think I may have to put him down this weekend. He's in so much pain he can hardly move and he's been whimpering a lot. We got to the vet and they went through the normal exam and aside from the obvious, he's fine. No fever, strong heartbeat, etc. He examined the trouble leg and was at first thinking infection, but since he has no fever, it's unlikely. His front leg started to give today too and the vet said we should prepare ourselves for the worst. I guess the type of cancer the vet thinks it may be originates in areas like the limbs but will refer pain all over the body. He aspirated the growth and checked the cells under his scope and had good and bad news. He said there was a good amount of puss which is good because infection is treatable. He also said there were a number of cells that could be cancer. He's sending out the samples tonight and I should know by Saturday at the latest. No matter what happens if his quality of life doesn't vastly improve I'll put him down. He doesn't deserve to live like this just so I can have him with me. And yeah, I cried like i was an infant.

i'm sorry jnev.
i've been a dog owner my whole life (i've had 2 dogs and 2 cats for years now) and they are part of my family. I can't read this thread at all, or i'll cry for you and for all my pets i've had to put down.

(hug)

Oh man, I'm still holding out though!

You have to be strong and hope for the best
