wide grip bench vs narrow grip bench

Hi guys which one of this two movements would be the best to work the chest and upper arms, I'm putting together and writing my own work out routine and saving 150 dollars which is what personal trainer charges, and my only doubt right now is bench press so thank you for your info.

Regular.

I don't buy this isolation bullshit for compounds, do your compounds right and when you're burnt out you can do wide grip or narrow grip to hit different areas.

Narrow grip hits your tris, center and upper pecs more. Wide hits the outer pecs and shoulders more. Regular grip hits everything.

Wide grip bench press - puts more emphasis on your chest and less emphasis on the shoulders and triceps

narrow grip bench press - puts more emphasis on the triceps and shoulders and less on the chest

If you want both chest and arm development, do both. I would start with wide grip and then do narrow grip. Make sure to properly warm up. The bench press can be a very hard exercise on your rotator cuffs if you don't warm up properly.

I typically will grip shoulder width apart. That will focus more on the chest. If you wanted to use bench press as a tricep exercise then you would go very narrow with your grip.

I love narrow grip for tris. For me this is best you can do. Will also help you with normal wide chest press as your arms wont.give out before you done and start shaking.
For me wide is middle finger on the rings
Narrow thumbs on the start of the smooth section of the bar. About 8 inches apart
.more of a tri kick rather than pressing
