Why would 5lb db press be too hard?

for anyone? as long as there is no injury?

I was training 2 women in the morning, db presses, db military, db deadlifts, db flyes etc. I stopped doing mornings so they switched trainers and they said i worked them too hard. they want to do the machines. wtf?

they're lazy and want the easy way out.. at least that is what it sounds like to me-- i can't imagine it being too hard for anyone without a substantial injury, so i wouldn't say you're at fault.

No joke, I had my 2 1/2 year old nephew doing 5 lb dumbbells presses for reps as a funny video.

They are just pathetic and will not get results because their mind isn't in the right place.

"It's too hard"

Bitch, please. I can curl 5 pounds with my boner, so that aint nuttin.

It's supposed to be difficult. The 6-minute abs is bullshit. If you wanna look good you gotta bust your ass.

People just don't get it.

So this doesnt happen again bro...every new client at the begining of the first session...Tell them straight up, "I'm your personal trainer and I'm here to improve your lifestyle through hardwork, not to be a mommy. I don't and won't take it easy with my clients so if you feel this is not for you, then please find another trainer that will cater to your needs." This will kind of weed out the weaklings while also solidfying your status as a good personal trainer. Those people will be drawn to you.

if these girls are out of shape fatties, its not that 5 lbs was to much , they prob could not handle going through the motions with only short rest between sets and you prob kept them moving and they felt over worked .

You could always ask them to explain , if not you might loose more clients in the future, as a trainer your job is to get people into shape BUT you must also take into consideration their fitness levels.

People that have never done weights at all would prob be sore just doing the motions alone even without weight . I mean some out of shape people complain about hurting after walking up a flight of stairs for a whopping total of 2 minutes when the elevator is broke LOL.

thx for the responses, ill do that slim

The sad part is right now is a shitty time for trainers (at least where i live) and most people are lazy but people need clients so they end up taking them on anyway. It is just laziness though, tell them straight up there not gonna get anywhere doing machines and not breaking a sweat.

exactly. really not hard to figure out that someone who has never worked out in their life would struggle with light weight. considering the lack of core muscle stability - not even mentioning joint stability which dbs require, cns innervation for movements, and poor diet.
