Why does every man exaggerate their income on the web and in real life?

When I was young and starting out, all I wanted to do was make some good jack. Last year, I made more money than I ever thought about and I am like - now what.

It is not really that much fun to buy those toys when you can actually afford them. I think even worse, I don't even want those toys now because I don't want to look be grouped with all the other rich pricks flaunting their goods.

Plus - rich kids suck. I generally can't stand them. How do you become fiancially succesful and keep your kids from being like that??

poor kids suck even more. they join gangs, deal drugs, commit crimes, ignore education and steal your shit. la county is full of them.

I think my buddy has a good concept going. His kid gets to participate in 3 things in a year. 2 after school sports and then a hobby outside of school. He focuses him on those three things even though he can afford to do a lot more. This doesn't mean he's a nazi not letting him do other stuff just that he doesn't allow him every sport, every year or every niche hobby that comes along. He makes his son decide and then supports it.
 
I don't see why it is so *offensive* for a woman to care about what a man has between his ears when MOST MEN seem to care a great deal about what is between her legs. :whatever:

I know I can't be the only guy that stereotypes young women in expensive cars while driving. Anytime I see a woman age 18-26 driving a nice BMW or Benz I automatically think to myself, "daddy's got money" or "hubby bought it". Narrow minded? Maybe. But I'm willing to bet I'm right 98.687326% of the time.

For those of you who think that you would judge someone based purely on their likability and not be impressed by someone's success... you guys are sorta fibbing, that is, not unless YOU have traveled in those circles on a regular basis. I mean, what is there to be impressed about insofar as wealth when YOU have achieved the same? After you have achieved a certain level of success, the bar will be raised. It will be then alone that others will no longer be able to impress you with *stuff* but by WHO THEY ARE ALONE.

I think that Ms HeatherRae quoted an excellent maxim. It is now one of my favorites.

my tree has fallen a few times. the first was the hardest when i was discharged from the navy after 12 years of service with disability. took me a long while to pick the tree back up. but i like the quote from the rocky balboa movie.

"its not how hard you get hit, its how you get hit and keep getting back up"

thats me all the way. knock me down and i will come back a better person and not fault you for it. but instead learn from it and become a better person.

i started my new job yesterday and also today. im not used to working when i want and where i want, its just that kind of job. but do not take advantage of the freedom i have been given. it is a gift to be able to work the way i want to work. tomorrow i have nothing to do. will i take off? no.... im going right back to the place i was at today and getting more people on the right path in their financial future.

i have not earned the right to brag about this new job. it has been given to me by luck and experience. i knew someone who got me in but i stayed in because of my experience. i got knocked down too many times to just give up. i will not accept failure on my part.

you and your husband have given me the confidence i needed in those two short days i hung out with you both. i try and make the best out of any situation that presents itself. the more i talked and listened to you both let me know that no matter how bad life gets, it gets better if your keep fighting. never give up no matter what. i have all the confidence that you will be soon reunited with your children. if anybody has heart and dedication to a cause, its the both of you. i listen a whole lot when i meet people. i try and see things from their perspective and realize im not the only one who has been knocked down and got back up.

you know there should be background music to what i just wrote... lol

Well, I don't make a lot of money. I do own some real estate that I inherited. I'm trying to sell it off and put the money in a money market account.

When I'm dating a girl, I try to impress her by treating her like a princess. Shouldn't how well you treat your girlfriend or boyfriend count for something? Hopefully one day I'm going to meet a woman that really appreciates what I have to offer and will stick with me.

meh. . .in the time that my wife and i have been together (18+ years) we've made as little as $40,000 (combined) and as much as $200,000 (combined). . .right now, we're at about 150. . .and honestly, in all that time, from a financial perspective, we've never wanted for anything. . .

oh. . .btw. . .my wife is from mason county wv. :)

I made $70k last year hopefully I get to 6 figures this year I have had 30% year over year growth rate in income for the past 3 years sales is the best job in the world.
