Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL): accumulates in the arteries, eventually hardens and causes stenosis (narrowing) which leads to atheroslcerosis, increased bp, and heart problems.
High Density Lipoprotein (HDL): Most people refer to this as "the good kind or the Healthy cholesterol."
HDL picks up LDL and takes it back to the liver and is eventually excreted.
Notice both are lipoproteins and not 'cholesterol.'
