I only get my multi's there. Best quality anywhere.
Multi's are multi's doesnt matter where you shop. Wal Mart, 300tabs 7bucks. Now tell me GNC can beat that?

I get my vitamin C and multi there, but that is it.
I got 5lbs worth of vit C for 40bucks online. Dont ask why I got so much, I didnt think it was a lot at the time. It'll last me a lifetime.

GNC can't beat that price, but multis are not just multis... there is quality issue. I am not trying to just pee it out in an hour, I want it to stay in. That is why I go for the better QUALITY products. I'm sure there are better quality then gnc but I am positive wal-mart is not in the high quality list.

GNC multi's are not the best.

You want the best? Try the ones made by the Life Extension Foundation.

lef.org

I challenge anyone to find a better multi.

Nukdae

Didn't say they were the best, reread the post. I said they have excellent quality. :)

And I'm always in the market for good multis so thanks for the site.

i go in GNC about once a month or so, just to see what they have on clearance. found a GREAT buy on ABB Extreme Body RTD 50 (15 oz. can) 9 cans @ $0.10 each. i will not buy protein, creatine, etc. from GNC anymore

Occassionally they have something that catches my eye. Occassionally might be too often. Once every 5 or 6 years I'll get something there. Last week their protein was a decent price. It was comparable to what i was getting online. I don't like switching proteins so I'll have to say I'll never do that again.

I'll occasionally slip in and see if they have any good discounts or anything priced really low because of expiration dates. I actually just purchased 10 GNC pro performance RTD whey shakes for 37 cents last friday at my local GNC because they are set to expire in 2/05. Hell, i'm drinking one a day, so i got me one hell of a deal!

Yeah, shop there...but ONLY during the 1-7th days of the month, where I get my 20% discount.

The stuff there isn't THAT expensive. I got a 42 pack of Myoplex for like 65 bucks. I checked on the internet, and it was like...59 at most sites, not including shipping and handling, which would probably even the cost. Add to that the fact that I don't have to wait a week for my product, and GNC doesn't seem so bad.

the only thing I buy from GNC is there multi, Mega Men. very good vitamin for trainers. not the best but far from the worst.

Here in the UK: they're good value for money.
They often have good offers on Protein un-matched by online stores.

once in a great while... only when I dont have time to wait for shipping... I get everything online I find the gnc brand to be shit quality

Any product that expires within 4 months, GNC sells for half price plus another 20% off if you have a 'gold' card. I found this out today when I went in there to get a protein bar before the gym.

Just went yesterday and found Endurox R4 for $12 and another 20% off. Expires at the end of May 2005. Works for me. I used to use that Trac creatine a few years back and checked the price. For the freaking small bottle of powder they wanted $65. Insane prices in that place.

I cant stand going in there. fucking guys always try to sell you the GNC brand. I was looking at a bottle of Pump Tech and buddy hands me a GNC bottle of a nitric oxide booster. he says "here, this is the same thing as that but its our brand and a lot cheaper. its also very good quality" I just laughed and said "no its not, stop trying to rip me off so you can make a couple extra bucks in commission!"

last fucking time I go in there!

The ONLY time i go there is if i reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyyyy need something that cant wait for 4 days or a week, or if they have a big sale where the same stuff i buy via internet is cheaper due to shipping . AND THATS IT!!!!!!!!

i worked a gnc for a couple months, it was gay. They bought their Mega Men/Mega Women for roughly $2.00 a bottle, they charge #29.99 for the 180 count. Extreme mark up. But anything perishable our store with in 1 month of expiration they marked down 90%. Which was damn good.

Shopped @ GNC for years. Spent so much dough(even with Gold Card), I probably financed their last few stores. I know better now. Besides, I now have friends that work there. They have ways of giving me deals(and no, it's not by way of 5-finger discount or 100%-off sale).

I do buy from there only because I cant buy online dont have credit card.
and I dont have patience for mailorder.

in other words i dont have a choice :worried:

GNC, is still good for one thing... Taking your money. So if you have the extra cash to sling around just throught my way and save the gas.

***Keep your head low and your a** moving, Semper Fi.***

I just got a job there, GNC is very over priced, just look at things like MRI NO2, you can get em 50% cheaper online. Since i work there, i do get some great deals, especially on closed dated stuff, but as a customer, i'd say go online.

A friend of mine just got a gold card and offered to give me the one for my key chain; I told him " thanks, but I have no use for it".

i worked there it sucked, 30% off is not a great deal...and the close out stuff, alls you have an advange over is the fact that you know when things are close dated before anyone else.

I actually just went to a GNC store for the first time in years. I needed a new shaker bottle and have to say that they at least got that right, cause their shakers are quality.

I have Inside Connections with SND Canada .... Teehee!
SND blows they single handly fucked the supplement market in Ontario. Only time you catch me in GNC or SND is doing a price comparison for my friends store.

Where I live there's a family owned nutrition n supp store that sells everything for internet prices PLUS I don't pay shipping. So w/out the shipping, it's cheaper for me to go there than to order it!
SO....no one shops at our local GNC except morons....LOL

What do you all think about Vitamin World, the same as GNC? And do most of you all shop through out the internet, finding the best source available?

I guess I'm one of the retards that still shops at GNC.. Where do I need to be shopping for my protein at a good price??

Thanx
Open up your phonebook and start "price checking" over the phone in your area. That's how I found the store I go to as u saw in my previous reply. Otherwise, there are lots of websites u can order from. Most are far cheaper than GNC even with the shipping cost.

last i shopped at GNC was bout 4 years ago and it was just for prolab creatine mono for 20 bucks. for most things its just way too expensive for me...and they dont even have a lot of the companies that i really like so i cant say that i still shop there.

I never buy anything from GNC but I do like going in there and standing next to customers and listening to the employees explain what certain supplements are and how to use them to add quality mass. Always bring a smile to my face. :D

most of the employes down here are fat there is one guy that knows a lot and hes preaty fit but one out of 6 people thats a small persent of mucles smarts

Sorry guys I get everything I have there. They have sales on the beginning week of the month where pretty much everything is 20-50% off. Plus I live in Alaska and there isnt any other stores besides WalMart where I get my NOS

I still go for multis and that's where I bought my first supplements a few years ago, but thankfully I only went through about 10 pounds of their protein before I switched to online sites.

there's a GNC at the mall so when I'm at the mall I'll get my food at GNC instead of the foodcourt. Usually a protein bar with an Instone Protein pudding for dessert.

Most online stores have encryption etc besides all majour credit cards have insurance to them so if something were to happen you would not be at fault.

You could always give me your credit card number and I could buy it for you. Just look at my face ... am I not the most honest guy you have ever seen. :D

VISA # here please: _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _

Nope. I just can't do it. I keep track of what I have around and what I'll need soon and order everything online. It's SO much cheaper. Plus it's nice to have it sent direct to your office so you can sign for it.

Actually, I shop at GNC every now and then because it is in our Military exchange mall. 1) prices are cheaper at this GNC than any other (believe it or not, comparable to online) 2) I pay no tax 3) I can use my gold card ALL month long, not just the first 7 days or whatever.

I still buy online, though, because they don't carry my favorite protein powder (micellean by VPX.... mmmmmm soooo goood :RADAR: ) All I really buy from them is the instone puddings :D

Funny thing about GNC; you don't have to know anything about health, fitness, or nutrition to work there. Early on, I used to go in and ask questions, not knowing that the guy across the counter might know less than I do. I know a few people who work there(or used to). None are really qualified to give advice, but do.
The only useful thing they can do is report on what items people return a lot.

You people are funny, GNC is a retail place where professional training is not provided. I just quit my job @ GNC. All we get is a little computer program which takes you through basic stuff. Honestly, nobody reads it, although it is required to finish the program, but it is not inforced in most of the stores. I spent countless hours reading and researching different supplements, workouts, vitamins. If you ppl have access to the internet and boards like these, then search what you want to know. Nobody can know the answers to all the questions.

I shop and work at GNC as I am a Nutritionist and Wellness Consultant and let's face it, people walk in and ask a million questions. I have been dieting/training and getting educated for over 10 yrs since losing 70lbs. I like to help people plus I get to pass out my business card for my Nutrition business. I am a newbie to the board, how do I get "the good" products not sold in stores?

Hey Scott the Trash Man, I am not a fat guy, I am a very sexy and fit 40 yr old nutritionist who works at GNC and my friend owns the franchise. So I am smart, toned, and know more than you about supplements I am sure. Don't judge others....we are not all alike. ;)

I can't speak for other GNCs, but the one in my area is pricey compared to other stores; this is surprising, since i'd assume they had the power to buy in volume, and pass that discount on to the customer.

I have used their whey isolate, and it was fine. Pricey, but fine.

Their brand of vitamins seems average. I had a GNC employee try to tell me their brand was "top notch, and can't be beat". I brough in a bottle of nu-life brand vitamins, and showed him, and he just stared at me like this: :whatever:

I won't shop there, though, because:

1) They've proven they don't really know about their products, and they try and push false facts on potentially unknowledgeable customers.

2) It's an american company.

Yes, I buy american products, but from locally-owned Canadian retailers ;)

GNC has it's place....for those starting out, maybe, who have limited knowledge on what's out there. Once educated, though, I'd bet most poeple move on.

GNC is just like supplements. I know there are some people that work at GNC are useful, and then there are the ones that just work there. Same as supplements. No offense to anyone on here working at GNC but around my area none of the people there can tell you anything. For example. Im kinda big, 5'8" 235-245 i came into a GNC store looking at EAS phosphagen HP for pricing and the person working told me what it was and how it worked as i stared at her. before she could finish i interupted her just to fininsh for her. i can understand it if i was asking ?s but i didnt even say hi

I live in St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. GNC is UNFORTUNATELY one of two places that I can buy stuff without using the internet. You want to hear what a rip off they are???? I pay five dollars (that is right pal, five big bucks) per can of Ready to drink Nitrotech!!!!!!! That is what they charge here!!!!

Anyone know of a website that sells the ready to drink cans of protien over the internet at reasonable prices????

My wallet thanks you in advance.!!!!!

True, this is when you can get HUGE discounts. They aren't supposed to be able to sell past an exp date, so they do anything to get rid of it.

I shop there all the time. Last time I bought some suplements that were on sale plus got another 20% discount. I looked up the product at some popular web stores and found with my savings it was actually cheaper than if I bought it online. Add that to the convenience of having something whenever I want it and..well its worth the extra expense sometimes. just my humble opinion...

For those who take supplements take notice of this warning and go to saveoursupplements.org and respond. Govt is trying to remove DHEA and any item like creatine, noexplode, NO2, testosterone enhancers, workout enhancers from the market. Be a voice like I have written many times. The govt is going way over board thanks to the Mark McGuires of this world who can still get their items due to their millions, just go to the site and respond to H1545 and HR3156 and S1137 and save our supplements. I am a nutritionist and a user and I am just 1 voice, I need your help for our freedom of choice to use natural. They also want to put age limits and legalities on the bottles that is why I referred to the 3 bills in motion. I still work at GNC part time but I also sell other supplements from other companies wholesale to avoid the middle man since I am a certified nutritionist. I did this for all of us, please help me be a louder voice. It only takes a minute. Thanks in advance.

here i was thinking GNC was a good place to go if i wanted to get serious about BB and dieting...guess not...lol...do you guys know any places online that are RELIABLE where you buy your stuff? (protein, dextrose n malto, yohimburn, etc.) because i want to order stuff online but i need to convince my parents to let me use their C card and let me pay them for it because they rarely let me buy anything online because they fear scams :worried:

I really don't know what are you people talking about .

I always buy there and I doubt anyone will find me a better place to buy my ISOPURE ZERO CARB which I pay 69 U$ for the 7.5 lbs ( when I go on the first week of every month to get 20 % off ) - ( again it is not 3 lbs , it is the 7.5 lbs version ) .

the cheapest I EVER found on the internet was 63 U$ + shipping , how much would be shipping for a 7.5 lbs product ?

so long as whats is on the label is in the container... i only use certain brands.. if im at the shop and a new brand is a bit cheaper i wont try it til i get some feedback from new users. basically i wont just try any brand and there are some ive learned to avoid and some to trust.

i only go there for the expiring stuff, certain discounts and yea, the girls that work at the modesto GNC are pretty hot- if youre on the board girls, HI, from your secret admirer. most stuff is a rip off if its not on sale.. but i got a 2.5 tub of muscle milk for 23 bucks after tax yesterday.

I shop there all the time but that's only because my boy is the manager and he gets me crazy discount's. If you don't get a discount it's seriuosly a rip but if you do get a discount it's super convienient and about the same price.

I have no problem even using GNC at full price if I'm in a bind, can't hate on them because if I really need something, i know they are there.

I shop there the 1st week of every month. I have the gold card and save the 20% plus whatever sales they have. Ive looked online and the price is pretty much the same once you add in the shipping costs. Why order online when the store is 5 min. away??? I dont go nuts spending there but I buy my basics.... Protein, creatine, NO2..........

Yeah it isnt that expensive I bought some creatine there on the weekend, prolab 600 twinpack for only 26 dollars. and its gonna last me like 5 months.

Thats funny but whats funnyer is i went there the other day cuz i like to laugh at the prices and these older ppl were buying something for there kid in iraq some NO2 pills, guy pulls it out and says its the big bottle 180 its 120 bucks. I about fell out thinking how bad these ppl were geting taken....Funny i payed 26 bucks for 180 good name brand, then i went to my secret store and got 2 bottles total of 180 for 6 bucks lol....Hmm thats a mark up or are you paying for the name?
Only clueless ppl shop there cuz online prices are way low if you shop around.

Ha Ha your a funny guy...Everyone knows a better place then GNC! If you would asked nice id have sent you some rock bottom sites but...........and i dont do pipes i like women :p

I buy my supps offline. I do go to GNC on occasion though to see if they have anything on sale. They sell stuff really cheap when it's about to expire!

I don't buy from GNC unless their protein bars go on sale. The other day I got mesotech bars for 69 cents, pure protein bars for 49 cents that were expiring. You can't beat that but who really wants to go into GNC everyday to check?

I do. ONLY when there is a wicked good sale and/or I'm in Providence visiting people and get a sick discount from a good bro that works there :)

Otherwise, it's online merchants for me!

Go AF and AG! lol

... and netrition (been buying from them for almost a decade now)!

If by 'pure protein' you mean sugar, partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, high fructose corn syrup, honey, sugar, sugar syrup (sucrose, fructose, dextrose), natural and artificial flavours ... then yes, that is about as 'pure' as you are going to get. The low protein content of bars is generally poor quality and you would benefit more from purchasing a high quality protein powder or making your own bars.

As for GNC ... their products are overpriced and are promoted by employees who have limited product knowledge and only a basic understanding of nutrition at best, in general. Consumers shouldn't have to wait until a product has nearly exceeded its expiration date in order to receive value for money. There are many retailers, both high street and online, who have no problem undercutting the GNC prices on any given day.

There is one very convenient to me at work. I pick up protein bars by the box when they are on sale. That plus the card discount makes it worthwhile.

Ive started taking multi-vitamins from there--I have not gotten sick yet!! I think the quality is good--As for other supplements I think they definitely overcharge

I shop for deals. I got 5 #'s of Creadrive for $12 2 days ago. The GNC on base is actually more expensive that one's at the mall.
