who squats and deadlifts in the same week?

I must be doing something wrong or someone needs to fill me in????...or something


I do Squat/Deadlift/Cleans on Saturdays;

Warm up w/ lunges 1 set the length of my gym or parking lot
with 35# Dbells


Front Squat 135@12-15 / 1 set
225@10-12 / 1 set
315@4-6 working set

Regular Squat 405@2-4
495@1
585@1

Deadlift
225@10-12
315@8-10
405@6-8
495@2-4

Cleans
135@ 1
185@ 1
205@ 1
225@ 1
245@ 1

Calves 1 set 20-25 reps


Call B.S. I dont give a F&*k !!!!!!!!!!! no need to lie no need to front the only thing is that I just drag my feet home (30 min walk home) and just lay there on the floor until I can get up and make me a protein drink
 
I do, often in the same day as well. But not balls out on both exercises, and usually its a variation of deadlift.

balls out squats and straight leg deads, or balls out squats and rack pulls for speed
 
I do not like to go balls to the wall on both of them in the same week...

when I do this routine people just tend to stare (It's a small gym...) they are trying to figure out why is it that I do not use the shiny leg press or the shiny leg extensions or the SMITH MACHINE...ooooooooh SMITH MACHINE...that is probably the most used piece of equipment here gentleman......

I keep it very simple very basic and very core...


Dumbells and Barbells......nuts and bolts.......



I don't knock it....I just tend to really be amazed at how some people without the crutch and crown of leverage "cables"
they actually htink that they are safegaurding themselves from injury...for example they other morning I observed (very discreetly) a gentleman doing curls utilizing the smith machine....?
 
I do Squats and Stiff leg dead lifts in the same day, once a week mostly using barbells.

I feel a really good stretch from the dead lifts, so i do them after i squat.

I rarely use the smith machine or the press, i like to use free weights as much as possible.
 
i do them both. mon and fri
days

ive been progressing for a long time doing this.

i do both to failure and low volume.
I do maxes in the deads and squats in the 6-8 rep range
