Who is currently doing the ANPB Diet?

MattRecc

New member
Anyone else out there doing the ANPB diet right now? I kinda wanna see a thread where everyone posts up their weekly progress. I just started this diet instead of doing ckd and want to see what kind of results others are getting

I'm curious about this too. I'd love to hear some feedback from those who are trying this.

I'm thinking of running it for the month of January to see if I can drop 6-8 lbs. before starting a bulking cycle.

yes i am as a matter of fact. im using next nutrition protien and smucker's all natty pb. im gonna stick to it till i get to 8 percent bf. so far this is day 1. training will be tonight @ 6 pm so i cant tell you if its affected my workouts. hhhmmm maybe ill start a online diary or some shit

Could you please post your diet and stats....very curious how you hav e applied the sticky to you......thanks bro...

Perfect...we're about the same size....give or take 20lbs and 6-7%.....Could you post what you eat and how often? Thanks.....

well before i really didnt have much of a diet, i was bulking (used to be sooo scrawny), used to just eat TONS of protein, and junk foods once or twice a week. I started the anpb yesterday, and have been eating 3.2 tablsps of anpb and 25 grams of whey every 2-2.5 hours. So far i havent had any craving for anythign else, and i actually feel full afterwards. Im just interested to see where my strength is at tonight at my workout so ill post up later on.

Karma bro - thanks....now tell me, you just slam the pb, or do you take your time and put it on a plate...lol.....man, you're gonna get sick of that shit! Also, Every 2 hours, so how many times a day? Even postworkout? NOTHING else but a whey shake and water???? hmmmmmm

im one of those people that LOVES pb, but i dont really take my time to eat it, i eat the 3.2 tblsp 6 times a day, it basically works out to 3 times b4 workout, 3 times after, i agree the whey in water definitely is not my favorite, but its only one scoop, so i slam that shit down, or some meals (when i have access to a blender, throw the servings of anpb in the shake with some crushed ice, it gives it a little more flavor.

Believe me i was more surprised than i thought i would be that the pb actually hasnt made me really sick to my stomach, and it has definitely killed my cravings so far, but theres always that breaking point, but that hopefully wont come until the refeed.

Also, i would have to ask Mr. X, but it might be ok to substitute something like chicken breasts for the pb and maybe add a tblsp of oil to the shake for some of the meals.

I posted my update actually in the ANPB sticky thread. It's on page 6 I believe. We both mix our PB into our shake. Gives the shake a better flavor since we make the shake with water.

i've been on the ANPB diet for two weeks (will be two weeks on Sunday).

I feel like I'm actually eating more than when I was on purely a restriced calorie diet and I'm losing weight alot faster.

I'm 6'2 and two weeks ago weighed 225 and had approx 13-14% bf, this morning I weighed 216.5. I haven't had the bf checked but I'm sure its gone down. Over the two weeks my workouts really haven't changed much or been affected. They are just as intense as before so its not sapping any energy. I lift 4-5 times a week and do cardio 3-4 for 35 minutes.

My goal was to lose 2 lbs/week and its obviously gone alot faster than that. I'm also taking Bontril (phendemetrazine) which is awesome (good energy level, intense workouts, v. few hunger sensations).

I'll let you know how it goes, I'm curious to hear how other people are handling the refeed days.

NICE! God, grocery shopping made EASSSY!!!!!! No more prep, no nothing......only problem is I need to put on about 20lbs......just competed my vontest prep and about 180 at 6'2 and 6-7%....maybe come spring......Hey, its winter boys! You should be packing on the mass !! GL

i think those that are on the diet, and are willing to update all of us with their results, should start their own log in a separate thread. it would be interesting to see how everyone does on this diet. be sure to include stats, workout split, types of cardio, etc, etc

This diet looks great. Should I do a whey/dextrose shake after lifting though on this diet?? Or would that defeat the purpose??

No dextrose in your PW shake: only eat the foods outlined in the diet. The dextrose WOULD defeat the purpose.

i started the anpb diet yesterday. im 5'7, weigh 245-249, depending what day it is, im guessing im around 30%BF. my goal is to be 190 lbs. and 10-12%bf. i have never been that low before, but my diet has always sucked ass. so, if this works for me it will work for ANYONE. i will keep my results posted on here.

Yes, I'd like to see you post your results, you should do good as long as you stick to the diet.

Wow great progress man, keep it up.

Ive been on it a week, at 6'2", started at 226, now down to 222, and took a day off for a buddy's birthday and had a few beers and am at 222, the next day after, started back up on it again. It does make me a little drowsy, but much less so than the normal CKD, also I get no cravings at all, and my roommate eats Tater Tots and Pizza like 3 times a day, and I haven't come off it yet, cept to have a few beers on a Birthday. Cravings are not an issue, its just hard to get all hte peanut butter down, so in the morning I have 5tbsp of ANFB, and a scoop of whey, and then only 1 tbsp for the next meal with a can of tuna. Then the other 4 meals are pretty much on the money.

No issues with constipation due to high fiber content of hte ANFB, and at $1.86 a jar of ANFB, this is very cost effective

timing of meals doesnt matter????? Slug - you have 5tbs for your 1st meal with what? one scoop of whey? then what do the rest of your meals look like?

Second day on the diet.

Down 5 lbs and 1" on the waist.

The day when allright untill nighttime kicked in, then my cravings went up.

Also, Im not sure what happened, but I started feeling like major shit towards the end of the night.

The thought of peanut butter made me gag, so I just went to sleep.

I continued the diet this morning and felt good until about 4:00pm, then I started feelings like absolute crap(Felt like I had a fever/Headache) along with fatigue, and a good case of the brain jitters.

I did not want to stay in this state, so I went ahead and had a chicken salad with some crackers.

I feel a hell of alot better now, and about to go to the gym.

Im not sure what is going on, but Im gonna switch to a more balanced diet, and just work my ass off in the gym.

This is wierd, because I felt great on ckd.

Anyway just the thought of anpb at the moment makes me want to gag.

Down 5 lbs and 1" on the waist.

after that kind of success you're going to bail?

HS,
the fever/headache pby comes from drinking too little water. I had to almost double my water intake to keep from feeling sick to my stomach.

I also had trouble sleeping the first few days but popped some ambien and was good to go. Body must have adjusted cuz now i sleep like a baby.

hang in there

you should be drinking at least 2 gal anyway...

if you were on a ckd, you can't say the headache was from NP because NP has way more carbs than you would be gettin on CKD....

i bet you were gettin more carbs than you thought on CKD...

IMO

Bros - honeslty this diet is a complete joke....think about what you are doing, what you are consuming and how it is making you feel...I promise you, a diet with moderate fats and carbs and high protein will yield you HUGE benefits......may take a little longer, but it's worth it........flame the PB diet and see your progress....

Yeah, I already ditched the PB diet.

I am just gonna go out all the fast food, soda, and junk. Eat healthier meals and just bust my ass in the gym.

We will see what happens.

you should have tried this first before trying an extreme diet...

Discipline + no spice of life.........just depends how you wanna go about it.....I'm sure you could drink nothing but flax too, but I'm going to stick with my routine.....

I just started this and to spice it up a bit I have added one can of tuna a day and 2 servings of beef broth. Just to give me some symblance of food and flavor in the day. It has helped a bunch and I am still feeling a lot of energy, having great workouts, and feel "lighter". I do not want to take measurements yet. Want to wait about a week or so and see then, so I don't get discouraged early on. I think it is going to work out for me.

i think ima try this for 2 weeks in the middle of next quarter and eat clean when i get to school beginning of january.

This is my 9th day of the PB diet.
It is going pretty well, although I tried it right b4 thanksgiving for 1 day and gave it the boot. I am actually really surprised that I made it this far with no cravings, and it's easy.
I'm 5'4, 143, BF=26-28%
(this was the 1st day I got BF test since start of diet. so I don't know of any progress yet).
My energy level has been pretty good.

Does anyone know about the Refeed? I saw it mentioned a couple of times... but haven't really heard what it is or how to do it. is there a link?

thanks guys :D

Okay, I am now on day 4 and I have lost 5 pounds. Pretty awesome. I am only staying on this until Sunday, because I am traveling for Xmas next Monday. I think this will acheive my goals of shedding 10 pounds before I go see family and friends. Very cool.;)

ANPB diet

I'm going to give the diet a try...6'6 240-245...18.7 percent BF... im looking to get to about 220-225 and 10-12...ill update the thread on my results...(Mr. X) how long would you expect it should take doing 30 min jogging 4 times a week and lifting 3-4 times a week?

Thanks Thai.
I just weighed and on day 6 I have reached my goal, I have lost 10 pounds. Trust me, I have much more to go. I have decided to try and stick to it while traveling for Xmas.
Except for the 25th, of course. I have much cooking and eating to do that day. YUM!
Oh, I can get in to the clothes I was going to wear traveling. Go Diesel jeans!!!!! Yippee!
Mr. X rocks my world!!!!

I had a lot to loose and I had been eating carbs before I started the ANPB. I am sure that has something to do with it.

although the scale doesn't say any different... (I have been between 142-144 for a couple of months) I have been lifting and doing cardio intensly for 2 -3 mons.

so, something MUST be changing and I was able to fit into an old pair of (small) jeans... that is a good feeling :D

C-grats! Muscle weighs more...you know that......nice work as I feel the way clothes fit is the #1 gauge.....throw out the scale!

You HAVENT been on the anpb diet for 3 months, have you?? If so, I'm terribly sorry.....life can't be that boring.......

Sometimes when you are dedicated towards reaching a goal, nothing else matters.

How can some lose 10lbs in just a few days while others don't lose a lb for weeks?

Not meaning to slam Beachbuff (I'm glad to hear she's losing weight and having success!), but most of her weight loss was probably water weight. If you haven't been restricting carbs, just making the move to a low carb diet will quickly drop off a bunch of water. This has happened to me several times --I drop 10 lbs very quickly when I first start to diet, then my weight loss always slows down to 1-3 lbs/week after that.

Another problem I see a lot on this board is that a many people underestimate their calorie intake (you should use a site like fitday to keep closely keep track for a while) or they overestimate their calorie needs (sometimes both). I see a lot of posts from people smaller then I am who can't figure out why they aren't losing weight while eating 2500+ calories/day. I'm 220 lbs (about 10% BF), and I have to drop my intake down to about 2300 calories/day to see any significant weight loss. If you're not highly active (desk job, etc...), I think LBM x 12 is a good place to start. You kind of have to start thinking LBM, not just total BW. BF takes almost nothing to maintain, and adding that weight into your calorie-need calculations will screw you up!

Just my 2 cents!

Dedication is one thing...........moderation is another........if you can survive on peanut butter and protein shakes for 3 months and STILL be happy, more power to you........keep it up!

did I just say that???????

Heh, don't get me wrong, I could never do this diet. The main reason I work out is so I can eat whatever I want, be it ice cream or chocolate chip cookies. Most people on this board would cry if they saw my diet. ;) And consequently I don't have an award winning bodybuilding physique. I am in good shape and I can see my abs (mostly). Being that dedicated to low BF just isn't in me, but I can understand why some people do the things they do.

Woooo.....in your post, I could have sworn you said youve been on this diet for 3 months..........damn, did I read it wrong?

Your diet stinks and you can see your abs? Cmon...cant be that bad.........give me an example....

Starting it today. 3rd meal is at 1:45 PM.
177 lbs, no idea of bodyfat but my lower stomach is very slightly thicker than the area just above it, so I've got a bit of a gut. I bulked very sloppy. Not too proud of that, but whatever. I'm hoping I can cut down a lot of weight on this diet.

Does anyone know about coming off of it? Whether or not you have to slowly reintroduce carbs or not?

I think I'll never try this diet...but, to each his own......if I'm ever at the point where I need to drop 20-30lbs in a matter of weeks, well, something is very wrong...........

started today. no time like the present. holiday eating go to me. i'll be going back to college soon though, so i'll have my motivation back, ie, hot chicks everywhere....as opposed to a family full of carb junkies. very hard to keep on track in that environment. anyways, i'll do this for a week or two, and by then all the bulking supps will be here, and i will embark on my first bulker. should be fun. gl to everyone on this diet

This has got to be the easiest diet I've seen in terms of cooking and prep work. The key to this diet would be keying in on the fact that you are on a DIET and this is a program. If you can convince yourself that food is for self preservation only and not for enjoyment then this would be easy. If I wern't on SGX I'd be all over this.
